Best

During our recent four day trip to Seattle, I had Beecher's Mac and Cheese four times. I don't think I could ever get sick of it! The workers are great. Of course, we were ...

Fun and Tasty 3/5/2009

Always fun to walk by and to see what they are making. If you are lucky you'll see them making the cheese curd in the viewing room. Very entertaining and also educational to see how things are made. They have samples that you can try, I like the freshness and very flavorful. The store serves sandwiches as well with their cheese, and it's always packed. But worth the line up if you want some good high quality cheese. Their cheese curd is really expensive though, a little container is close to $8. I want to cheese curd to make poutine but can't get myself to spend that money. I would recommend stop by this place grab a sandwich and read on how cheeses are made. more

So good I can't stand it 5/5/2006

I am a self-described cheese snob. Can't get enough of the stuff - especially the gourmet varieties. Beecher's is my own little slice of heaven. The smell when you walk through the door is remniscent of the cheese shops in Europe. Heavenly! I often get the little tubs of spread for crackers if I'm having a party - they're always a hit. more

Go here. eat cheese 1/9/2006

Wow - have you had the absolutely decadent, fatty, tasty, unbelieveable Mac & Cheese that Beecher's makes? In addition to supporting a local artisanal food business, you are delighting your tastebuds and hardening your arteries all in one bite. It is so freaking delicious I can't stand it. In fact, just writing about it has made me want to go to their store in Pike Place Market and buy some mac and cheese for later on. so good. go eat it. more

Who knew cheese could be this exciting 8/21/2005

Beechers Handmade cheeses operates out of a super-premium storefront near the original Starbucks in Pike Place market. There, they’re able to lure in townies and tourists with samples placed within shuffling distance of the sidewalk. The samples are delicious and varied, as are the cheeses they actually sell, both in the storefront and in select retailers throughout Seattle. They also apparently have educational cooking/tasting classes and programs to get locals schooled on appreciating fine cheeses. There’s great wine, coffee, fruit and bread here, so why the heck not? more

Definitely the place for a cheese lover 8/21/2005

When you walk in, there is a big glass window where you can see the cheese being manually stirred. In the back, there is a glass frig where the cheeses of all types are being aged. They don’t do samples. If you want to try it, you’ve got to buy it and the smallest portion they will sell is ¼ pound. However, it’s certainly worth trying since most of their cheeses are award-winning. more

yummy cheese 8/19/2005

This place in the Pike Place Market makes good quality gourmet cheese. You can go there and sit at their counter and watch. They sell the cheese in their shop along with other cheeses. They also have some really yummy looking macaroni and cheese. Try the cheese curds for a nice little snack. more

I LOVE cheese! 8/19/2005

You can watch them make cheese here. You can also ask them just about anything about cheese that you can think of. The staff is super knowledgeable. If you want a special cheese, this is certainly the place to go. There selection is huge. The only downside is that it is located by Pike’s Place so there are always a ton of people milling around and clogging the little place up. more

Watch Them Cut The Cheese 8/17/2005

One of the interesting things to do at the Pikes Place Market is to watch Cheese making at Beecher's. They are known for their cheese curd, but they alos offer many different cheeses. The prices can be a bit steep, but the atmosphere is nice and the staff is knowledgeable about cheese. Try a free sample of the curd, if you find value in these words... more

Delectable Fresh Cheese 8/7/2005

Located across from the Pike Place Market, Beechers Handmade Cheese is a wonderful place to visit and buy some delectable, fresh cheese. I was first introduced to Beechers when I was at the market buying some fish and vegetables for a dinner I was hosting. Though the window you can watch them make the cheese. After standing at the window, mesmerized by the process, I went inside the shop to try a sample ... it was some of the best cheese I have ever tasted. I bought some for the dinner party and it was a huge success. The only problem is my guest filled up on cheese before the dinner was served. There have a few different varieties, all of them fresh and very tasty. Great for a wine and cheese party. more
