Great Gel Manicure 8/5/2011

Excellent Gel manicure, My friend insisted to bring me here, so I went there on Thursday for the first time and had a fantastic overall experience. They charged $30 for a Gel Manicure, which I think is reasonable. Hey, by the way, I got a bonus too: celebrity sighting. I swore I saw Renee Zellweger, even though we did not ask for picture, because all people show the respect for her privacy. Great service, nice & polite staff. more

Best OPI gel in town 8/13/2010

To set the record straight here and I am embarrassed to admit: I was walking around town with ruined polished toes for about four weeks. The summer is coming and hectic and I had no time for a pedi and short on money. But with the hot day like yesterday I found myself at this spa. It is hidden away next to a Fire Station and had no parking which was a bad thing, but I saw it when walking out the Wholefood across from the street. \r Due to my bad fortune lately, I cut down and do not often go for mani/pedis about 6 mons. Yesterday, however, I decided to pamper myself and to hike out here and give them a whirl.\r Worth every mile and my precious penny. \r I walked in around 3:30 on a hot Wed afternoon and opted for a mani/pedi. The massage chairs for the pedi was a great bonus, and between that and the leg massage, it was all I could do to stay awake, I was so relaxed and content. Very impressed when before she did my manicure (she talked me into doing the new OPI gel), she cleaned and sanitized the pedi tub. Bonus point here. The manicure was well done too, and I loved the hot towel and hand massage. While I was at the drying station, praises of the waxing skill of the girl here dropped into my ear and I decided to help my diet this week by skipping a lunch for an eyebrow wax. I tell you: I felt great I made the right decision. I usually mess up a nail within minutes of them being done, but that didn't happen here. Even after plenty of typing today, they still look perfect as the girl guaranteed. \r I may just have to treat myself to this more often, if my fortune changes next week.\r more

where you would find great service and nice staff 6/3/2010

I just moved to Boston and lived in Downtown, so I know next to nothing about the area. Thus, I was petrified to get my nails done because I don't know anyone in this area, but my colleagues were great and gave great referral about this salon, especially about the Opi Gel Axxiom, which it's the only salon know how to do it in the area.\r \r This place is fantastic. Chi is my new savior!!! She was SO precise and meticulous and explained absolutely everything what I need to know. The moment I walked in, I felt comfortable and totally at ease. The place is nice and clean, with Flat screen TV (make it look upscale, but the salon is a little small in area). I had the OPI gel nails and eyebrow wax. They were fantastic. I walked out happy and was invigorated.\r I waited two weeks as the girl guaranteed to see if my nails chip with this new OPI gel Nail, but amazingly, it's not. Needless to say, I found my spot in this new city.\r Pros: Skill and friendly Cons: parking and small space more

Best place in town 4/14/2010

I am no stranger to mani/pedi. However, recently I heard lost of people mentioned about “opi axxium gel nails” and want to try it, but my regular spot know nothing about it. From my friends’ words or mouth, I found and came to this gem spa on the Hill.\r I considered myself as a loyal freak, since I only come to my regular places, but this new found spa definitely changed my taste for beauty spa. \r The place is new and clean, just renovated I guessed, with new pedicure chairs. The best thing of these chairs is they are pipeless, so you will not have to be afraid of the residual water from the one before.\r The girl did my M&P using the new opi axxium gel nails and promised if there’s any chip with my nails within two weeks, she will do it free for me.\r \r The service was amazing and very relaxing, she did the best job and my nails look fabulous. \r \r I am not used to write things on internet, but after two weeks of constantly working and even exercise, my nails did not have a chip. I love the new opi axxium gel nails and the great job the girl did. I have to say what I think and recommend the place.\r \r \r Pros: Great services, nice people, great skill Cons: parking more

Great services, convenient and friendly 12/7/2009

I love this place and it's right next to my school!! I was getting sick of the high price local nail places near my apt, so I decided to look for a convenient salon near my school. \r \r Beantown Spa wow me! Parking is a great challenge here on the weekdays, but I have no problem since I walk to school everyday, but street parking was available in the afternoon. The place itself is a bit small compare to other nail salon on Newsbury street. \r They are extremely sanitary and autoclave their tools. They also use hot towels and lots of extras to make it a relaxing experience. The nail salon is cozy and looks a lot like a house. The restroom is even smell like aroma and extremely clean that make me feel bad for my own.\r \r I am being extremely picky about my french manicures and used to criticized whoever do it, but again, Chi, the tiny girl, wowed me. I thoroughly enjoyed the hand/arm massage and I was immediately put to ease. The girl really know what she's doing and pay such attention to details. Pedicure here had been equally relaxing and I love the hot towel session (even when they scrub my feet and I squirm because I'm ticklish). Overheard about their waxing praises from their fans, especially Brazilian wax, so it's in my ""to try"" in the summer.\r \r Service is superb and I've never had to wait long (if I forget to make an appointment). This is my new found favorite nail salon! \r Pros: One of the best salons in Boston Cons: Parking, Parking and Parking in downtown Boston more

where you find your relaxing time 11/30/2009

Encouraged by friends and great reviews, I came to Beantown Spa last week before Thanks Giving while I was in the city for my husband’s family event. I would be happy to say that it was a really great nice experience. The people there was extremely friendly, professional, and attentive. My manicurist, I forgot to ask for her name since it was so crazy and crowded that day, was so sweet and attended to details, and she massaged my arms and hands for a good, long time even people were sitting for their turn. All of the tools were sterilized and she washed her hand and sanitized her hands before she did mine. The place itself was small, but nicely organized and clean. As many people mentioned, OPI and Essie colors are available. I really, really enjoyed my experience here, and I will most certainly come back again if I am in town Pros: Skill, Service, Nice, friendly, and attentive Cons: Parking, space more

Relaxing even during hassle time 9/30/2009

Best nail place I've found in Boston, and reasonably priced! Basic mani-pedi for $35 :)\r \r With the recommendation of my friend, whom had a little Nail party for all of her bridesmaids here, I came in to get my wedding nails done along with 6 other BFFs on a late Friday afternoon, because the place is convenient for my friends. It was packed during this rush hours, but we had no choice, but picking this time for our reservations. Surprisingly, they got to us quickly. They did not rush through our pedicures even though people were waiting and stacking up. Nice long massage for my feet! I got french tip for my fingers and toes, and I've got to say this is one of the BEST manicure & pedicure I've had: They didn't cut my cuticles too much, shaped my nails nicely, and the french tip was done PERFECT!!\r They are very CLEAN and take their time. You actually feel like your getting a quality mani/pedi. \r I am happy I made this choice. Pros: Service, friendly and clean Cons: typical cozy place for Beacon hill area more

What a surprise GEM 7/29/2009

While I attended a charity event in Boston, I got a gift certificate for full service from this spa from the organizer. I am very rare to go to the new salon that I am not used to, but I came to this spa anyway because I was in the city. First of all, the place is small compared to my regular spa. However, the service is what make this spa outstanding. I have to say is they are as good as people praised. The girl, who waxed my eyebrow and Bikini, did a great job. It was quick and clean and she knew what she did, so It minimized the pain level to the degree of almost painless . The Manicure and Pedicure are just the same as I got from my place and they lasted for almost two weeks without visible chip. Although, the place is small to my standard, but it's clean and very well organized. One last thing, They used the ""Purell"" sanitizer before every customer and it's a big plus from me due to the news of ""H1N1"" flu lately. Pros: Great skill and nice place Cons: Parking, problem of Boston more

As good as it can get for your money 5/26/2009

Due to my constraint budget and with many things to support, I'm not someone who will gets nails regularly, but I go to any nail spa a few times a year when I really need to or for special occasion. I went to this nail spa without much expectation like others when I had to, \r but I left with a smile on my face. The prices are normal at Beantown as others I have been to, but the best thing was definitely the service. Everyone was so nice and really dedicated to making a relaxing experience for me. \r They brought me coffee, which they helped me to buy it from the Starbuck store nearby, when I rushed in & did my perfect nails and let me sit on the massage chair sipping coffee more than long enough for them to dry-- it was so nice not to be hustled out before I was ready to go. \r The girl, whom did a perfect eyebrow wax for me, was so nice and she even did my lip wax free. This place is top notch for waxing from people's praise while I'm there, so I am glad I did. I'll definitely be back, of course when I have to.\r Pros: Skill, friendly and top quality products Cons: Parking more

The Great stands out 5/5/2009

We moved to Boston just two weeks, so it's a must for us to find a great regular nail salon. We decided to try Beantown Nails spa based on the great reviews on Citysearch and others. We had a fantastic experience here and I think it will be my regular place now, because the Brow wax and Nails were so great (see below). \r \r The place looks new and clean and have no odor like other nail spas. The staff is friendly and professional. I'm tired of going to places where the staff is snotty or where you can tell they are talking about you in front of your face (because you don't speak the language). Every person I talked with was really nice. \r \r I didn't get the name of the little lady who did my brow wax , but, wow, she was so good . I'm always afraid with a new place that I'll get burned, itchy or walk out with those upside down half circles or triangle (you know what I mean) from people who don't know what they are doing. She made a very nice arch, and trim them nicely and I don't think my brows have looked this good in years! One more thing, I was lucky to get the eyebrow, because this little lady was just back from her vacation, so they did not offer waxing for those time. Just in at the right time.\r \r I got the regular mani/pedi for $35 with another girl, A good one at a reasonable price. What is special is they used the hot towel with a pleasant smell to clean my leg and hand before massaging. It soothed and gave a relax feeling. \r I don’t want to say many things or say it for my friends, other than you should try for yourself.\r Pros: Skill , Helpful and Friendly Cons: Parking more

Stress free place 3/16/2009

Where to Start or Begin?!? I found Beantown Nails Spa on webs, because I was looking for a nice and cozy spa to treat my bridesmaids the day before my special day. A Spa that might serve drinks at an affordable price, but alas, that is hard to find with budget constraint like mine in this time. The good thing is they let you bring food (cheeses) and Ws in with you! \r \r From the time we walked in everyone was so welcoming. They waited for us to pick out colors and organized into two groups, so we can enjoy our wine, talk and still get done at the same time. This was the BEST Pedicures we had together at a nail Spa...Seriously...EVER. This was a wonderful experience...especially to wash away all those stresses that can build up in the least expected places (like your feet)! \r One thing We could not expected was we got a complimentary eyebrow wax from the spa and Oh Boy, the little girl, who did the waxing, did the best job we can imagine. We all loved the job she did.\r \r Needless to say more\r Pros: Nice, clean, friendly and great at what they do Cons: can't find any more

Best waxing ever 12/15/2008

Friends, if you need ""a kick '''' "" Brazilian bikini wax, Chi is the girl you had to see. In my quest to find a perfect place for Brazilian wax, I read comments and got recommendations from friends and they all pointed me to this Spa. Chi is fast, careful, good communicator and the most important is she understood what you need and what you are afraid of for this type of wax and others. She was doing and going quick on me, but stopped whenever I blink my eyes or had any gestures. She talked and comforted me during the process. This is the best aethetician and the low on the pain scale place I found for waxing, and believe me I tried quite many places. I also got a pedicure with a girl here, because Chi talked me into it and I said what the heck, because I am here already and they are good. What I liked about the pedicure is they used the hot towel treatment and ""Stickey"" top coat before the polish, which I like because I know this top coat would protect your nails longer. The girl did a good job on pedicure and I enjoyed the extra massage on my leg. One bad thing: Parking; I got a ticket because I forgot to feed my meter while I enjoyed my extra service:pedicure. Pros: Nice and friendly girls. Great skillful aesthetician. Clean and sanitary. Cons: Parking more

Relaxing and efficient spa 12/1/2008

We had a party at a club in downtown, so we'd been meaning to check out one of the nail salons in Beacon Hill, so we could stopped by and get our nails done before we go to the club (FELT). and we picked this salon. The girls were really nice and helpful as we selected our polishes from the wall by providing color suggestions and brought magazines, while we sat to get pampered a bit waiting for our turn. They take time to wash and scrub clean every foot bath in between clients, use sterile equipment, etc.. They did a fast, thorough, clean and look great on both my hands and feet. Honestly, because I am not in the area, I wouldn't have come here without my friend and had things to do. But this place made me feel so comfortable and relaxed that I'll definitely make random visits on my own when i am in town.\r Pros: nice , relax environment, skillful staffs Cons: Parking more

Amazing liquid gel manicure by Chi 10/6/2008

Chi completely resurrected my hideously chipped gel nails - and even buffed off the old powder gel layers so we could start fresh with liquid gel. After a week of moving, I actually look like I have nice hands again. I would recommend her in a heartbeat! Pros: Chi's liquid gel manicure more

Great skill, efficience and friendly 9/18/2008

While I was in the area, I walked into this Nail spa with intention to make time fly faster and had a place to wait for my friend. But after I had a Manicure and quick eyebrow wax, I was happy that I walked in the right place. They are skillful, efficient and friendly. As anyone had waxing know, it's alway hurt, but the aesthetician is so good, she did it so quick and made a great shape. They took care of my nails and spent time to massage my hands. The manicure looks great after and I felt refreshing after. I would come back this place again if I am in the area. Pros: great smile and great skill Cons: no parking more

revitalizing salon 9/8/2008

I went to this place for manicure, pedicure, waxing and facial for my birthday. with the treat of my boyfriend. I was very skeptical about this place, because you know man don't know these things like woman and I don't know if my man know what I want. But, ""OH BOY"", my man does know what the woman want. The experience was just perfect , great and fantastic for my birthday present. I had the perfect manicure and pedicure ever from the girls there. The Brazilian and facial that Chi, the aesthetician, did on me were painless, clean, nice and so refreshing. I've never felt more pampered and although this was my first time her. The atsmostphere was relaxing and the place is exceptional clean and sanitized. I was even happier person due to this experience. Definitely a great place to go if you want to get pampered and spoiled. Pros: efficient, walking, convenient Cons: Parking more

Best Spa and Nice people 8/5/2008

After I had a bad eyebrow wax from one of the salon on Newsbury st., I went to this Spa by the recommendation of my friend and after reading the reviews from this site. I had to admit they are as great as people rave about. CHi, the aesthetician, explained carefully what's wrong with my eyebrow and fix it for free. I am greatly impressed with her knowledge about waxing and Nails. I even had time to let her do my nails and they look amazing. I can't thank you enough this site and my friend for great suggestion. Pros: nice, clean new spa Cons: parking more

Best Nail and Waxing in Town 6/19/2008

I read about them from this website and others, so I want to check out if they are as good as people said.\r I have to say I am absolutely satisfied with their great works. The brazillian wax I had with Chi is one of the best job done on me . It was painless and looks great, if you know what I meant about the brazillian wax. The Man& Ped was clean and in great shape and polish. From this experience, I should say they are as great as people praise. Pros: great skill and friendly Cons: meter parking more
