They have outdone themselves. After buying a pie and driving home some 60 min away I noticed the date showed the pie a week old. I called in the hopes the lable was wrong. The manager drove a new fresh pie to my house some 45 miles away. Wow... Old fashion service lives.. more

We celebrated my mother-in-law's 2/11/2012

We celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday at this restaurant last night, and I have to say that we all really enjoyed ourselves. Like any restaurant on an extremely busy Friday night, we did experience a minor glitch in our overall experience, but what set this place apart was their level of concern for our happiness and the attempts by management and staff to set it right. We were simply blown away by their attentiveness. It was obvious that the management takes a very hands-on approach and maintains a respectable presence. In addition, the service was impeccable, the food was great, and the prices were reasonable. What more could you ask for? Well, the parking is a little tight, but we managed to find a spot just half a block away, which was just fine. Overall: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. more

Beaches in Vancouver 11/9/2011

I have been visiting Beaches since it opened 16 years ago. Over the years my tastes have changed and they always have something on the menu I like. My favorite has to be the seafood fettucine; it is so creamy and delicious and they will take out anything in it you don't want. That is the best thing about Beaches, the employees. Always nice and willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Which is why it is a shame many of them no longer work there, because they have many regular customers who like to visit them and be waited on by them. The reason they aren't there anymore? The owner, Mark. He will fire anyone who says one tiny thing he doesn't like, even the best servers who have worked there for 11 years. From personal family experience with this restaurant, I will continue to go, but I advise anyone who gets attatched to people, don't be so sure they will be there to greet you and help you next time. The food and people are absolutley amazing here, but the ownership, Mark, definately needs some work. more

6 Stars--DON""T listen to the few bad reviews... 9/7/2011

Wow---I just happened to run into these reviews By accident when looking to call up to do take out and I could not believe the 2 negative reviews,,,Obviously a disgruntled employee or jealous restaurant owner ,,I have been coming to Beaches since the day they opened and all I can say is Wow...Mark the manager,,,has created a wonderful place were not only locals but people traveling will experiance what dining should be ...aI have run many different Businesses and have always admired how they have created one of the best when it comes to service ,,nothing beats Beaches the staff is amazing ,,,the food is always perfect-Well almost when it isn't...they refuse to let you continue till it is perfect,,,and after many years of dining there and being a chef myself I can honestly say this is in the top 5 I have ever eaton at and when you get your bill it will not reflect that...In fact --shush don't tell any one but --I think they are way under priced,,,,,never hesitate Beaches,,,is by far one of the best restarunts in the Northwest Russ,,,,,maybe you know me -I can not tell a lie more

If I could give a ZERO star rating, I would! 7/22/2011

My husband and I never received worst service at a restaurant. We arrived at Beaches at 7:00 pm. Sat at the bar and were avoided for 15 minutes while and older gentleman to my right was served almost immediately. A woman slipped on food right in front of me in the lounge grabbing me as she went down. Employees were passing by and not one person asked if the woman was okay. Once we were seated outside we sat at a TINY two seater table, while 3 4 seaters were available outside. About 10 minutes later two younger girl were seated at a 4 seater next to us while the other tables remained available. Our food was terrible. My husband sent his burger back due to gross bacon only to be told it would take 5 minutes. 20 minutes later we were checked on and passed our point of tolerance. We denied the burger to even come out, but was convinced to take it with us. My salad dressing tasted like pickes, but was afraid of the outburst I would have caused by complaining also. By the time we FINALLY received the check it was 8:30 pm. Not only was the service awful, but we sufferred through the time of avoidance no matter where we were seated, or what we asked for. Our server seemed to be a new employee, or one who didn't know what she was doing. The burger was taken off our order, but I can guarantee we will never go back, or to any other Beaches. The best thing about the visit was the view from the patio. Too bad Beaches can't claim to have made that. more

Best Restaurant & Bar I've ever been to...! 4/15/2011

The service is the best. They work as a real team that knows what their doing....I've never had a ok meal there...Its always the best food for the best price....Beaches took a chance opening as a non-smoking venue long before it became the law. It was packed the first day and has been ever since. I used to live in Vancouver and would go there at least twice a week. Now I live in Vegas (wish we had one here) and every time I visit, I eat there for lunch and dinner every day! The ownership is wonderful greeting their customers and provides excellent support to the community....If you live there, or visiting from out of town...its the place to go with the wonderful view of the River and Portland lights!!!! more

Beaches in Vancouver, WA--AWESOME!!! 2/20/2011

After reading some of the reviews the other day, a couple of the negative ones especially, I just HAD to comment about this restaurant. My husband and I have enjoyed dinner at Beaches many times in the past 8 yrs. and we have NEVER had a bad experience--either with the service or with the food! We have been to a few ""Happy Hour's"" there and just today (Sunday) went to the afternoon Happy Hour... It was AWESOME!! Even though the place was extremely busy...filled to the rafters(!)... the service was OUTSTANDING and the total of 6 appetizers my hubby & I had (yes! 3 for him, 3 for me :))) were very ample and scrumptious!!! The Lemon Pepper Calamari was one of the best tasting and MOST tender we have ever eaten!!... and, believe me, everytime we go to a restaurant we order a Calamari appetizer!! We will be back to Beaches soon :))) more

Best Service 2/18/2011

I took my husband here for a late Valentine Dinner and I requested a window seat by the Columbia River. The service was great, well above my expectations. The food was out of this world. I would recommend this Restaurant to everyone. The salmon was to die for!!!! We will definately be returning here. more

TOURIST TRAP 11/16/2010

Fine if you are a desparate tourist from the Hilton or Red Lion who has nowhere else to go, but locals don't bother with this place. Food: YUK Service: YUKKIER. Just overprices schlock. They couldn't care less either. Too bad because Beaches ownership is active in the community, and does a lot of good for a lot of nonprofit groups -- trouble is, they just can't seem to get their restaurant (hello -- core business) together. Oh well. Go to Portland. Way better eateries. more

Do Not Order ""Filet Mignon"" 3/10/2010

Had dinner there last Saturday. Ordered a Filet Mignon med-well....for $22.00. It came out of the kitchen as 1/4 inch thick cutlet, 5 inches across, cooked charred and white inside. To make matters worse the squash was under cooked and could not be cut with a knife, and the garlic mashed potatoes were a glop on the plate. Don't go! Cons: What a rip off! more

Very happy with overall experience 11/3/2009

We went here for a friends birthday dinner. There was no waiting for our seats for an hour over our reservation time like we usually have to do for our birthday dinners at other local establishments. We were seated right away. Our waitress picked up on the names of people at our table. Our beverage glasses never went empty, food was on time and PERFECT!!! We had a party of 16 people. The bonus... they didn't FORCE a 15% gratuity on us... because I wasn't forced to tip I tipped very generously...Plus our server was the best I've had in a long time.... I highly recommend\r Plus they made a special menu with the daily specials and put our friends name on the banner of it!!!\r Pros: Great family atmosphere, affordable dinning, great food more

Great experience for a birthday celebration 8/12/2009

This was a great experience for celebrating my sister's birthday, her name was on the big chalk board when we came through the door, we had reserved the ""charity table"" and what a great time, she was seated in a special chair indicating she was the birthday girl, the manager came over and greeted us and they gave her a cute ceramic flip flop sandle with a candle in it as a gift as we were leaving. Food was good, hot and tasty. We passed on dessert. I would highly recommend this place and will go back, especially for special occasions. Pros: Great Experience more

Best Happy Hour!!! GREAT FOOD... BETTER SERVICE! 1/29/2009

My boyfriend and I went there, he had loved it in the past, and my visit was the first time! The happy hour menu is smaller, but the food for the value tastes awesome! My boyfriend just loves his chicken wings and for a few bucks you get a small order of wings, that he absolutely loved! He ordered a few of them that night! \r I just got a quesadilla, which although was a little dry in some spots, had great flavor! We always had water, and the bartender was great! They had a cobbler desert that tasted terrific a la mode... the ice cream and special apple mixture was a melt in your mouth treat. Some reviews on here seem a little bad, but like they went when it was busy and expected immediate service. HA! Good luck finding that ANYWHERE! But Beaches has great servers and fantastic food, and as you've heard, a WONDERFUL VIEW. Pros: Everything is awesome. Cons: Didn't find anything wrong. more

GO!!! 7/28/2008

Beaches absoulutely wowed my husband and I. These people are the true experts on customer service. We made a reservation and the manager who handled the call recommended the Charity table. They actually hold the best table in the house for kids in need. So of course we took it and when we arrived we were seated immediately buy a very friendly, pretty hostess. Once we were seated our server came over very quickly and introduced himself and asked our names. He talked us into the Nori Tuna. It came out in a flash. I forgot to mention the perfect drink I had, it was some kind of succulent strawberry Martini. The Martini was chilled to perfection and went down way too smooth. Oh my God, I haven't even mentioned the perfect view! The owner even stopped by. I can't say enough about this place, but I'm out of room! JUST GO PEOPLE! more

DON'T GO TO BEACHES RESTAURANT!!! 7/8/2008

Review for dinner on 07/06/08. Four out of six water glasses had something floating - disgusting! Drink order was forgotten for 2 people. When forgotten drinks finally came they were wrong drinks. Waiter forgot to take order from 2 people and almost left. Waiter also asked if mashed potatoes would be ok as a side for a pasta dish - ??? Appetizers were delivered, but had to wait for waiter to come by to ask for silverware as table was not set up at all. My knife was completely dirty. Cesar salads were awful - greens not fresh and completely withered and croutons were soggy. One meal had hair in jo jo's. Side of ranch was ordered which came quite quickly, but then another waiter came halfway into the meal with another ranch. Drink refills were forgotten. Steak was ordered medium-well, but was over-cooked to a charcoal state. Hamburger was ordered without onion - showed up with onion. Not one assigned waiter to our table - a few different waiters tried to help but nobody knew what they were doing. Waiter with drinks kept walking around from table to table asking if they were the people that ordered certain drinks. Food was delivered to the wrong tables. Staff is very disorganized and nobody seems to know what they are doing. Three out of the six of us got sick from this dinner. people who got sick all ate Cesar salads and some type of seafood. The other 3 people didn't get sick, but they didn't eat any salads or seafood. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK - DON'T GO TO BEACHES!!! THIS RESTAURANT NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED FOR FOOD QUALITY, FOOD EXPIRATION DATES, AND OVERALL CLEANLINESS. Pros: Location Cons: Food & Service more
