Beach Haven Fishery

Beach Haven Fishery has excellent seafood! I am a seafood lover and always am completely satisfied whenever I eat there. The seafood is always fresh and all wild caught. My favorite is the king crab legs. They cut them for you so they are easy to eat and delicious! The scallops are incredible too. The owner always has a smile on his face and provides a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail makes this restaurant a cut above the rest. The quality of food is excellent, the wait time is minimal, and the place is spotless! I have eaten there many times and I highly recommend this restaurant and the fish market too. All I want to say is ditto for me. The other review is spot on. I wouldn't call this place trashy as much as just very casual. People come in right from the beach in swimsuits, it is BYOB, no table services, everything is served in to go boxes even if you are eating in...no plates. The prices are a bit high, though no worse than many other places. The thing is at other places you get silverware, table side service, and a better looking joint. The only thing I disagree with is the people are not nasty...they have always been very nice to me. If you actually go in when it isn't packed, which is rare, they will chit chat with you...make recommendations, show you the fish market, maybe even give you a free drink or key lime pie. The problem is normally the place is packed and they just take your order and move you along. I guess that is just the way it has to be when trying to get the orders in and pump the food out. You wait a bit for your food, but considering the amazing food that comes out, I can wait. It isn't fast food quality, so why do we expect it that fast. This place is really different from most of the others you will find on the island. It is really trashy, in the sense that they certainly spend almost no money to make the place look nice. The dining arrangement is basically you walk up to the window and order. The prices are out of control, but the seafood is perfectly seasoned. Last time I was there, I had shrimp scampi. I got maybe 6 pieces of shrimp, they were HUGE and obviously fresh -- they were expensive but entirely worth it. There is nothing cheap on the menu, but if you're craving fresh, well-seasoned seafood, the Fishery is the place to go. It's trashy and there's no ambience or romanticism, but it's a real right-off-the-dock experience.
