Best place to go sit outside by the water and hang out! I love going there with my kids to eat and hang out! Kids love going there! Can't wait for them to reopen! Best spinach artichoke dip anywhere! And the baked sandwiches are the best! more

I've lived in St Clair Shores for many years. The Beach Grill is one of my favorite places to go. It has everything you would what in a place to go to 'get away' from the everyday. It has a price friendly menu with the smaller plates menu when you just wanna bite to eat, to more lavish dishes. The Swordfish is my personal fav. There has been times when i go there and it seems like organized chaos, no doubt. However, the place is HUGE by most standards and sometimes the lower management don't seem to have a grasp on what's really going on. However, this place, to me, is THE place to go for an awesome view, great food, drinks and dancing on the weekend. I've read alot of negative reviews about this place... sometimes, we all have bad experiences at places we go. i think these are a few of the whole. I've had pretty bad to extraordinary service from the service staff. However, i recognize and have come to know the staff that has been there for years and years. The Beach Grill's motto is ""escape, relax, and enjoy"", which is why i go there. It may be possible that i go there because of those words in my mind and other people expect it to be some thing more than it is. If any place on the water that size, filled to capacity (for a reason), can have 100% satisfaction with no complains please let me know... I wish it was open all year and i can't wait until they open for this season!!! CHEERS!!! more

Great food! Great Atmosphere! Great value! Seriously, my favorite place to go. The menu is huge and everything I have tried I loved. My favorite dishes are the swordfish and the kobe beef burger. The prices are very fair. Service was great as well. Also went on a saturday night for dinner and then stuck around for the nightclub scene. This place is truly a treasure in St. Clair Shores! more

I enjoy eating here, have never had problems with the food or service. I have many favorites: the steak is tender and juicy, their lemon cake is to die for. Looking forward to frequenting them again this summer! more

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO THERE! My girlfriend and her friend celebrated their 21st and 22nd birthday party here and had a reservation for 30. We made a reservation 2 WEEKS before hand. The DAY BEFORE THE PARTY they called to tell us that they were running out of food so they wouldn't have everything on their menu so because of the super short notice, we really weren't able choose another place instead which was their plan along. They know if they would have told us ahead of time then we would have picked some place else. They also said if we didn't have 75% of our guests there at 7 o'clock then were would cancel our reservation. After we ate their CRAPPY food, one of the our friends brought a coupon for 10% off our food bill. We paid the bill and noticed that our waitress didn't apply the coupon so when we spoke to her she said that she already put the money in and there was no way she could take it out when it was HER FAULT in the 1st place for not applying the discount. We were mad about everything that happened thus far, but we didn't complain since we were still looking forward to their bar/club to celebrate the 2 birthdays at least, but oh wait after we paid our bill the owner comes to tell us that he decided LAST MINUTE that he wasn't going to open up the bar/club that night when we had been expecting 30+ more people to come to the club on top of the 30 people that were already there. Once again, he could have told us ahead of time about all this information so we could have choose somewhere else, but nope he wanted to be a conniving ass and just wanted us for our business. He basically ruined 2 girls birthday parties that they will never get to have back. Thank god we finished dinner at 10 and we decided just to go celebrate in Downtown Royal Oak instead. We had more fun there then we would have probably had at Beach Grill and I'm glad we didn't give any more of our business to them. So if you are looking for a place to eat small portioned, crappy, overpriced food with the worst service you can ever imagine and a deceptive, rude, and just flat our disrespectful owner then be my guest and eat there. I can't wait for this dump of a place to run out of business for their horrible service. I have NEVER felt so disrespected and cheated in my life. If you are the owner I really hope you are reading this so you can realize what a horrible person you really are. more

Well folks it started on my brothers bday we went the to have some drinks and dinner.. We started @ the bar outside to have a cocktail and 2 apps.. The calamari was good and the spinn artichoke dip was good to just not that warm.. The bartenders name was James and he did a fine job.. We cashed out with him and decided to move to a table outside.. We saw the hostess and she got us a table outside.. Well it took 15 minutes to have anyone come up to our table, so the girls had to walk back up to the bar just to get another round of drinks.. Well finally someone walked by and said have you guys been helped yet? I said NO, but can u help us and stated that her shift was over.. Her name was Anya. She said i can take your order and i say the waitress that was supposed to take our table give her the dirtiest look i have ever seen.. Well how is it that we sit down @ 6:00 and dont get servive for 15 mins and a table walks in @ 615 and gets a server right away?? Doesn't make sens\r e.. Back to the debacle.. So ANYA gives our order to BRANDIE C.. The WORSTserver i have ever had in my life. She brings our salads out, and didnt even have time to eat half of it and here comes our dinner.. She brings 3 entrees when there are 4 of us trying to eat.. Oh wait, she forgot to ring in my girlfriends dinner.. Meanwhile, i ordered the orange roughy, not so good.. For $18.00 i got about 5 strands of green beans, 2 baby carrots, and about 2 tablespoons of rice, then the fish was not big @ all, flat and very bland.. So my girlfriend ordered the Shrimp Fra Diablo\r Sweet and spicy Gulf shrimp with fresh basil, crushed red peppers, garlic and\r shallots in a tomato Sambuca sauce, tossed in linguini. 17.95. It finally came out and looked like noodles with shrimp and tomatoe sauce.. There were deff no basil, red peppers, shallots or garlic.. She said it was awful.. To top it off, BRANDIE C never apoligized for forgetting her food and said here you go after everyone else is done with dinner.. ALL IN ALL it was a total disaster.. I WILL NEVER BE BACK AND HOPEFULLY THEY CAN FIND NEW HELP BECAUSE THEY REALLY NEED IT...... Pros: Its on the water Cons: EVERYTHING more

Very nice place to go with friends. Service was in a timely, professional manner. Music was great to dance to on the spacious dance floor. It was great to have a area outside to hangout at. I would come here again. Pros: everything is accessible more

What a horrible disaster! This is by far the worst place I have been to service wise. \r A reservation was made for about 40 people, weeks inadance for a party, that was thought to be a great place to eat and party afterwards. A phone call was placed the day of the party to make sure that everything was set.\r When we arrived to the Beach Grill, they didn't have enough seating for the entire party, and people were made to stand around and wait for the staff to correct their error. Once we were all seated, drink orders were taken. The order took forever to get back to the table, so most went to the bar to get their own drink. \r After waiting nearly an hour and a half, and after two waitress changes, we had our food orders finally taken, not delivered, but taken. When the food was delivered, there were two food runners, who were extremely rude. Instead of asking who had ordered what, they just threw the plates on the table, and told us to figure it out. I didn't realize that we had come there to work that night.\r Not all of the food was delivered, because one person in the party waited another forty-five minutes for a chicken wrap. \r After three and a half hours we were finally free from that place. And instead of going to the Aqua bar like we planned on, we couldn't wait to get the hell out of that place. \r Hopefully, the owner and managers take courses on how to treat people, and possibly retain business! I've been to this Restaurant & bar side about 10 times. I've had an overall good experience, but I do have to say that it's a bit expensive for what you get. Restaurant: Great Lobster Bisque, fabulous Sunday Brunch w/ omelets to order & every starch (including excellent potatoe casserole) & meat to think of. It's good for lunch, with a good vegetarian sandwich & a variety of unique wraps & salads. Dinner gets pricey, but I've had seafood & chicken dishes here that really weren't bad, worth the price. Bar: I've been on the 80's band night - hysterical & a surprisengly talented cover band! It's a very large bar area & dance floor (and seating areas) & if it's during the summer months they have a spacious deck out by the water w/ an outdoor bar. It can be pretty dead in there sometimes - it's hitt or miss. There's a pretty good mix when there's a crowd though, older & younger people, casual & dressed to the nines....it all goes there. I also thought (when it's busy) that it was a pretty cool atmosphere wtih the boats pulling up to docks, etc. I wouldn't go down during fish fly week, gross! Let's look at the expense report for the last Friday night I spent at this bar. $10.00 just to enter the bar (which wasn'nt really crowded) at ten o'clock, $7 for a very small cocktail, $10 for a jaeger bomb, and the list went on and on. Not to mention the crowd here is trashy and tired. Furthermore the D.J. belongs in a bowling alley. For the prices this place charges you would think you were in a big city and would expect much more than they offer. Trust me you can find a much better and cheaper place to have fun. The place has a great atmosphere overall, but tends to get pretty trashy later on in the evening. If sexy means you want someone to take home that night or like looking at the stripper-type girls who come off the big boats 10 at a time in the summer or guys who wear clothes that cut off their circulation, then it is the place for you. But, if you're a classier individual, I do not recommend staying past 10. more

Beach Grill has the best deck to dine out on because it is the biggest one around. it has the bar right there and you can also get off your boat and go right to it. more

The Beach Grill is a great place for anything from a birthday, to a wedding - a first date, to an anniversary celebration - a meeting place with the friends, to a place to dock to boat and enjoy the people! The Grill offers a great menu, not to mention a great location - right on the water! Sit on the deck or in the dining room! The salads are excellent, the burgers are phenomenal, and the drinks are out of this world! Try the Beach Grill today! We weren't looking to dance or to see or be seen; but to take a good friend out to celebrate a birthday! Nonetheless, we had a great meal with very pleasant service - even on a Saturday night with no reservations. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to try the bread pudding because they had run out - but maybe next time. Highly recommend the french onion soup; but avoid the crabcake appetizer. Pros: Attractive room, French Onion Soup Cons: Can be crowded, a trifle pricey more
