Recently my 97 Toyota failed a smog test and after many diagnosis I discovered that it would need a new Catalic converter. I thought it was going to cost me lot's of money to replace it. But with his guidance I applied to the California clean air Smog Board voucher program and they provided me with a $500 voucher credit towards the replacement of the calatic converter. I call him Mr Gary, I don't know his last name. He is the owner of the place. He is a man of few words but he seems to know lot's about cars. If you have a problem with your car take it to him he probably can figure out whats going on and fix it. We've been a customer for a few years now, after being over-charged at Midas one too many times. Midas wanted to charge us about $3000 for a bunch of things that we didn't need when we got a second opinion at Bay Star. He quoted us about $700 for what we truly needed fixed on our car, fixed it quickly, and didn't try and charge us for anything else. Bay Star has been our go-to place ever since. Recently, we had an odd problem with our car door: the locking mechanism was off and it wouldn't close. We drove over to Bay Star, holding the door closed the whole way. It did take until the next day to get our car back, but he didn't even charge us for whatever he did to fix it. And on top of that, a few days later we received a nice little post card from Bay Star, letting us know that they appreciate our business and hope we come back to them the next time we need help with our car. I really believe they do appreciate our business. In short, Bay Star Auto Care is an excellent business that shows respect to the customer. more
