I read your article. I believe Bay Area Remodelers is out of business. I had horrible issues with them and then I heard they changed their company name. The boss/owner was Kevin Mcginley, but I was told I had to speak with a Lynn, who is harder to reach than the US President.\r \r She apparantly placed the new company in her name, which should alert you of something. After many tries, I found it impossible to get anyone there to return phone calls, even the salesman Darriin. Personally, I would not recommend calling these people. I would rather eat my broken glass or walk on tacks.\r \r I do recommend one thing to every reader. I would make sure the address of the company you do business with, if its in Clearwater, is not 12795 49th St North, or its the same horrid people using a different name and ask for the name of your salesman too.\r \r Very Frustrated in Land O Lakes more

I would not normally write a negative review, but this company inspired me to speak up! About six months ago I contacted this company for a quote on a screened enclosure. The service rep requested that I set aside at least 90-minutes and became indignant when I asked for flexibility - I was not sure I can devote 90-minutes to discussing a screen enclosure. It gets worse...\r \r The individual who came to the home seemed agitated from the start. In fact, his condescending attitude scared my wife, which makes me angry! The fellow spent very little time explaining the process, flippantly stating that their company ""Does it the right way"". He spent about 15-minutes calculating the quote without making any measurements and gave us a quote that was easily $10K more than two other companies. In hindsight, he seemed to be completely disinterested in our business - perhaps he was angry about having to drive to our home. There was no follow up - for which I was glad, as I did not want to do business with this company.\r \r Fast forward to today - I receive a call on my cell phone from a rep of this company asking me if I'd like to reduce my power bill?!? When I ask a question about the call, the rep HUNG UP! I called the number that was registered on my phone and ask the operator to place me on the do not call list. The operator replied that I had solicited the call because I had contacted the company six months ago! She did not want to hear that I had called for a screen room and not on services to lower my power bill. The rudeness of the employees of this company is staggering.\r \r I realize that the preceeding is a rant. However, I hope that it provides anyone who reads this review a sense of who this company is and how they operate. Buyer beware! more

THIS IS A COMPANY THAT SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. THEY TOOK MY DEPOSIT, AND I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYONE FROM THE COMPANY SINCE. \r I WAS TOLD THE DESIGNER WOULD BE COMING LATER IN THE WEEK TO DISCUSS THE PLANS AND DETAILS I NEEDED FOR THE ROOM. NO ONE SHOWED UP. THE COMPANY HAS MY DEPOSIT AND INSIST THE CONTRACT IS BINDING, ALTHOUGH THEY COMPLETED NO WORK. AFTER READING THE OTHER REVIEWS, I SEE THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED IN THE PAST. I HAVE SENT WRITTEN REQUESTS VIA THE SALESMAN AT SAM'S CLUB, NO REPLY. They came to our home and designed a temo sunroom for us. The designer was very professional and very knowledgeable about the code and requirements of our area (hurricane zone). The construction began ahead of scheadule and was completed in just a few days. The project manager and all the workers were so neat ,professional, and accommodating to my schedule ( not an easy one)! I would highly recommend them to everyone. There was one window that was giving me a hard time so I called the office and they had a serviceman out the same day to replace it! I can't remember the last time I got same day service from anybody! Really , I thought it was a little exprensive in the beginning, bur I'm really happy now that I have finished project. We were thinking about moving but decided to improve our home instead. Your home is your largest investment so when choosing a company to remodel it for you it can be a difficult task. Bay Area Remodelers, Inc. had us at ease from the very beginning. From the designer that came to our home for the free estimate to financing to our project manager. They were there to help us every step of the way. When ever we had questions we knew we could just call and they were there. We love our new sunroom and spend as much time in it as we can. Our neighbors and family love it just as much as we do. We recommend Bay Area Remodelers, Inc. to everyone we know! more

signed with them for a sunroom sept. 2006, gave them over 26,000 dollars it is a violation of state law to ask for more than 10percent b efore getting a permit. they also lead us to believe that we would be in our sunroom by december that year. november 2007still no building permit , no work done,, oh they did send 3 pages of drawings (8 1/2 x 11) --i could have drawn them-- . Tired of waiting i sent them a letter , saying if they couldnt build the sunroom and couldnt get a permit , that a ethical business would refund the money paid - the response i got when i followed up with a phone call was 'get a lawyer.' the next month they claimed to have a permit-we havent seen it. received a letter from their attorney, and one from the company threatening us with legal action for breach of contract. at present we have no sunroom and no refund... they have $26000 + of our money Cons: they basically took our money produced nothing more

I am getting up there in years and own my home alone so going through a construction or remodeling experience can be a scary one, but Bay Area Remodelers, Inc helped me every step of the way. They kept in communcation with me through out the entire process and always returned my calls if I had a question. I do not know a thing about construction so of course i was calling often. My new sunroom is beautfiul and I spend more time relaxing in my sunroom then I do any other part of my house. I have told all of my family, friends and neighbors about them so that they can enjoy a new sunroom as well. I would do it all over again. more

We contracted a room addition with Bay Area remodelers this past January. They took care of everything for us, from financing through cleaning the room when it was completed. We did have an issue with a minor leak under the threshhold of the door, but they came out and fixed it two day after we reported the problem. We have made our room into a beautiful game room for the kids to play in, and our next door neighbor is actually in the process of having a room built as well! All in all it was a great experiance with great people, we are happy to be a part of the Bay Area Remodelers Family. Pros: they take care of everything, all we did was sit back and enjoy our room Cons: we had a little bit of yard work and landscaping to do after the job was done. more

DO NOT USE BAY AREA REMODELERS!!!!!!! \r Bay Area Remodelers put a sun room on my house in Wesley Chapel in 2005. Immediately after it was finished, the roof started leaking. Water filled up the ""roof"" they attached and into the walls of the sunroom. I had water running out of the ceiling fan and 3 inches of water in the sun room. Fortunately, I had not installed carpet too. The people they sent to correct the problem coated the roof with caulk. As soon as it would rain again, the roof would leak. Finally in September 2006 (EIGHT MONTHS AFTER THE SUN ROOM WAS FINISHED), I hired a licensed roofing contractor who removed all the worthless caulk they continued to put on the roof and PROPERLY sealed the sun room roof to the house. They refuse to reimburse me for the money I paid the roofer. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!! Pros: NONE. SUN ROOM LEAKED FOR EIGHT MONTHS. Cons: LEAKS SO BAD, WATER RAN (NOT DRIPPED) FROM CEILING FAN WHEN IT RAINED. more
