This veterinarian has helped my Aunt with her pets needs. We had issues with previous veterinarians in the area not helping with a chronic skin condition, and only making quick prescription recommendations that did not help with the issues. \r \r Her bills, which I assist with quickly tallied up to over 4,000 dollars, which became financially damaging, yet with no real resolution to the problem.\r \r I spoke wit a gentleman on the phone who quickly booked us an appointment and told us their are additions diagnostics that can help We had a Allergy test series done, along with food change and allergy vaccination we began. After 6 months, she is a new dog, with great skin, and is so much happier. As well as my aunt glad we saved in the long run, and found out the real issues.\r \r They are caring, passionate, and believe in what they do. We got her on a wellness plan, which includes unlimited exams, which helped us since we need to follow-up often with the condition till it was resolved. \r \r Wonderful clinic that offered a real solution with premium care, rather then fast quessses with no real benefit. . \r \r \r \r more

I do not recommend this vet to my worst enemy. They do seem to be very desperate in taken your money, because they will add all kinds unnecessary process in order to jack up the bill. Example:I brought my dog to their office because he had one of his digits swollen. The vet did an x-ray, and gave my dog a sedative at a premium supposedly to calm him down. My dog is a calm dog, so much so that he has his teeth done annually with no anesthesia. After all that, the vet found nothing wrong with the digit and gave me some pain medication and bill of almost $300 bucks.\r A week later my dog digits is not getting better, actually it was getting worse, so I reluctantly brought him back to this vet to see what was wrong. They check him again, and then decided to give me some that would actually treat the aliment that the animal was actually suffering from. They game me 14 days worth of tablets (clavamox) again at a premium, but I only needed to give him a week, and the digit swelling started to go down and he was fine. That additional visit cost $200 bucks. \r I did not make big fuss, because I knew that this would be the last time that my dog would be going there, and I had the power of giving referral to warn other about that place.\r I am not an unreasonable person; just me provide a good honest service, and I will be more than grateful. You are not going to get a good honest service from this place. more

STOP!! BEWARE!! Avoid this place at all cost-- otherwise it will COST you dearly--literally!!! This vet will do everything he can to jack up your bill. I was charged TRIPLE for prescriptions my dog DID NOT need!! I believe my dog was OVER medicated JUST so Dr Dempsey could line his pockets. PLEASE do not take your animals to this little run down clinic! You WILL regret your decision, just like I did!! more

Best vet clinic around 2/5/2012

I have been with Dr. Dempsey from the beginning, and I can say without hesitation that he is absolutely the best around. He has taken such good care of my dogs and cats, with so much caring and compassion - not only for them, but for me, too. He is up on all the latest info and technology, and I feel very lucky that my animals can benefit from his expertise. He truly wants the best for all our pets, and I have never felt pushed to do anything that I didn't want to do. His staff are all wonderful - I feel like they're all part of my family. If you really love your animals, and want to do the best thing for them, this is the place to go. Pros: null Cons: null more

pushing unneeded tests-dumpy office-dumpy dvm also 9/26/2011

This vet is EXTREMELY pushy with jacking up your bill as high as possible with testing procedures that are unnecessary - especially on a healty dog just getting vacs. You have to insist over and over to not have extra unneeded bloodwork, extra tests, etc. Very unprofessional. They also are pushing some insurance package and some pay in advance program. I will never go back - there are way more professional vet and better educated ones to boot who do not nearly drag you down to get all the money they can from you. It is a better deal to go to the emergency clinic on Calder Rd/45 if your animal is sick, and if not sick - well there is just no reason to use that dumpy litt;e place that is so desparate for money. I would never take a sick animal there. I have used vets for years and never have I came across an office like this little mistake. more

Nice Experience 8/2/2011

My experience was pleasant. I find it odd the ratings are either 5 star or 1 star and nothing in between. more

A vet with a heart and absolutely competent 12/23/2010

My husband and I have been visiting family here and we brought our dogs along with us and one of them got sick. more

Bay Area animal clinic 10/9/2010

This vet seems to be very interested in jacking your bill as high as possible with testing procedures that are either overpriced or unnecessary. I received an estimate for procedures that more than doubled without a phone call to even explain why it was needed, and the cat wasn't that sick. I've taken my animals to overnight emergency care and paid much less, animals close to death...with full testing. You know the feeling you get when something simply isn't right? Well, something isn't kosher in Kansas, and my wallet is missing. Won't be going there again, it's cheaper to go to the emergency clinic on Calder Rd/45 at 4 o'clock in the morning. AVOID. more

Unprofessional and questionable practice 4/1/2010

This clinic is one to avoid. My pets had been clients before the sale to the current owner. My mistake was conining to go there. I found several examples of missing, innacurate, and misfiled records. Treatments appear to be administered by poorly trained office personnel. To me that is a definite sign of a poorly run business. Adding to that is the Vet seems to have treatment tunnel vision - wanting to continue a course of treatment without examining the facts and listening to the owners. Seems more interested in performing expensive procedures than in providing quality care for the pet. My pets are no longer clients there. If i had moved to other Vet sooner, and had been able to promptly get my pet's records from this office, my sweet baby might have gotten a correct diagnosis in time to save him. He certainly did not need the expensive surgery recommended by this Vet. Beware!!! Pros: none Cons: unprofessional actions, tunnel vision diagnosis more

Not exactly warm and fuzzy 1/4/2010

Vet is arrogant, cold, and clinical. more

Great new vet! 7/9/2009

Dr. Dempsey is a great vet. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He is also very thorough, explained everything clearly, and spent more time with us than our previous vet. We highly recommend him! more

Bay Area Animal Clinic is Great! 6/19/2009

I find the previous comment completely untrue. I found Dr. Dempsey to be great. He is engaging, caring and totally up on the latest medical techniques. Obviously there are always going to be people who do not like change, but Dr. Schulte could not have selected a better person to replace his style of caring for my pets. I highly recommend this clinic if you want solid, quality care for your pet. more
