Om, nom, nom! YUMMY!!

We've been going to the Bavarian Grill for years, always enjoying it very much. Today for lunch, I'm sorry to say we were VERY disappointed; schnitzel was pretty good, but the sau...

Music, food and fun! 2/11/2013

Best little German food place around. Bring the family on Saturday evening and enjoy some oompah music with friends. I have lots of Asian friends that just love sampling other foods. Bavarian never disappoints. It is a little pricey, but since you get a show, it's really quite worth it. more

Had Better 8/22/2010

Good drink selection, but the food wasn't the greatest. When I went there it looked like they had just slapped the food onto the plate. more

Addictive 1/26/2010

I've visited a few times with my family and the food is always amazing. I despise mushrooms but always manage to order the brat stuffed caps as an appetizer. Pros: Great food, great breads Cons: may need reservations on weekend more

good German food 1/26/2010

Having grown up in Germany I can say that this place has pretty authentic food- as authentic as it can be in the U.S. Pros: as authentic as it can get in the US Cons: pretty expensive (at least teh portion are humongous..) more

Fun social place 4/2/2009

Fun, social atmosphere. Live music really adds to the environment, and you can get a special spot on the wall if you order a certain amount of different kinds of brews (which you get signed off on!). It's definitely fun collecting them all. Pros: Tasty snacks, good beer, fun environment Cons: quantities of food are small for the price more

Best German food in US (or at least Texas) 2/11/2009

I went for all the soccer games and continue to go on a regular basis. I have been for anniversaries, birthdays, and even engagement parties and always had a total blast! Every time I take a friend on a weekend (when they have authentic accordion players) they have the best time! However, you have to be willing to embrace the German atmosphere. I studied abroad in Germany and this place is just like it is there!!! Great food and beer; you can?t go wrong. I recommend the Wiener Art Sntizel. Everyone is so nice and owner is always there to greet you and make sure things are great! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Pros: Amazing food and ambience. True German style! Cons: Sometimes it gets too crowded and slow service-resolve with more beer! more

DO GERMANS NOT HAVE TASTE BUDS 9/19/2008

Have heard about them for years and always wanted to go. We went to Plano balloon festival and decided it was the perfect time to try it out. Service and atmosphere were nice, food was YUK...and I'm being polite. I had the 5 sausage plate with potato salad and saurkraut. Only 2 types of sausage were edible (veal sausage disgusting), have had better saurkraut from a can. Wife had a schnitzle (how ever you spell it) with a pasta, schnitzle was tasteless could have been breaded anything. A lot of nerve calling that pile of shredded dough pasta. Table bread served room temp. and right out of a bag. WAY OVERPRICED, NOTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE COULD BE CONSIDERED QUALITY DINING. Pros: service, atmosphere Cons: FOOD, PRICE more

Great atmosphere, food & service !! 8/25/2008

We had dined at a German restaurant in Muenster, TX (North of Dallas, West of Gainsville) some time ago and bemoaned the fact we had nowhere comparable in our area in Dallas. Then, we stumbled upon Bavarian Grill. The service was exemplary; our friendly male server suggested just the right brew after I told him the typical beer I would order. It was a perfect match ! We both had the Schnitzel "Wiener Art" which was excellent and enough for a large to-go box. Our only regret ? We should have each ordered something different so we could sample two items on the menu. Our entree was accompanied by their delicious warm potato salad and sweet & sour red cabbage. Very generous portions. Atmosphere is delightful, love the little train running around the room. I bet it's fun during Spring and Fall sitting in the beer garden !!! Can't wait for another trip back to Plano to enjoy this special find!!! Pros: Food, Ambience, Service Cons: Wish it were a little closer to home (FB/Addison) more

Good dining experience 2/3/2008

The German food is as close as I have found here in Dallas. It is a festive environment and gathering spot for local Germans. I will go back again soon. more

Actual Authentic German Food 8/29/2007

Excellent Bavarian food. At first I was a bit leary when I saw that it is located in a strip mall. Wow was I mistaken!!! The food is very authentic and taste like anything you would get in Munchen. I eat there quite often and have yet to be disappointed. Try the shwein hauxe. It's to die for! more

Great German Fun 4/27/2007

We had some friend come in town who just love German Food and Sausage. What better place to take them than to this place. The restaurant has a fun Germanic atmosphere and an authentic menu. I on my second trip ordered the Roasted chicken and when it was placed before me I had to take a picture because it was so beautiful. I then tried it and have to say it was the best I have had thus far. I originally wanted the goulash but the waiter told me it was not up to pare that day. Our friends who love sausage were not disappointed when they ordered the 6 sausage platter. I highly recommend visiting if you love German food and everything German. You will not be disappointed at all. Pros: Delicious German cuisine Cons: Not getting there early enough to sit in the beer garden more

Its not that good! 7/17/2006

I had to wait 45 for our foods. Non of the foods tasted great, it was very avarage. My Chicken cordon Blue was very dry almost no meet on it. My husband's Schnidzel was not all that great. We had a lot better in other parts of Texas. more

Delicious Fun! 7/16/2006

This restaurant is fun! It's very casual, spacious and the service is excellent. I tried a few entrees and my favorite was the chicken schnitzel. It is made to perfection! However, the absolute best part of my visit was the Prinz Regenten Torte, Munich Royal Regents Cake. I almost didn't order it because of the hefty price of $10. Ohhhhh..but I'm so glad that I did, it was one of the most delicious desserts that I have ever tried and I am picky picky picky. The chef uses actual chocolate from Germany to create this piece of heaven. It is layers of sponge cake divided by chocolate cream and covered with a delicious layer of swiss chocolate. It just melts in your mouth. P.S. - the entertainment can be a bit cheesy. the good news is you can sit in another room :) Pros: great food, great service Cons: cheeseball entertainment more

Bavarian Grill - The Life of Any Party 3/31/2006

Bavarian Grill of Plano Texas is one of the best German restaurants in the Dallas area. Guests are seated quickly and without much trauma and greeted promptly by a smiling member of the wait staff. The food is amazing and there's so much of it! There's also live music every night that's kid-friendly. Dancing, great beer, and good service, what more could you want? Pros: Great Beer, Kid Friendly, Great Service Cons: Parking more

Good German Food with an American Flair 8/17/2005

My first visit to this restaurant I was really expecting something much more dramatic and maybe even "touristy?" What we got was good honest german food with some atmosphere. Which is really good for the Plano area given a relatively small German population. PROS: Many varieties of European Beers CONS: Staff need more training to support the atmosphere. more

Great German food! 6/20/2005

I have been to the Bavarian Grill many times and have never left unhappy. The food they serve is very authentic and they have a wide variety of German food to choose from. The lunch specials are inexpensive and the dinner rates can range from expensive to reasonable. The waitstaff is always friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone. more
