I went to Baum Blvd Automotive about 2 and a 1/2 years ago for my annual inspection. I was told I needed to replace my front strut assembly on both sides. They upsold me, telling me that the better brand--at $200+ more--would last for the life of the car (i.e. 50,000). This came to $850.
Today, my mechanic, at a different garage, tells me, not only are these parts broken (even though I've only driven 2000 mi. since I left Baum Blvd) but that the strut assemblies are in fact generic, Japanese parts, that SHOULD have cost $400. Not the $850 I paid.
I was a) sold sub-par parts when I was told I was getting premium parts; b) overcharged by about $450; and c) am now paying for these parts TWICE because they have to be replaced.
I am beyond outraged at the blatant lack of ethics at this garage. Of course, they offered do to nothing to rectify their deception and downright robbery. Classy, guys.
DO NOT GO HERE! Seriously! If you must, make sure you check each part and get a second opinion on what it should cost. It is appalling what they can get away with.
