This is the best place around in three counties to buy fruit & veggies plus way way more. I remember going to their stand when i was a little girl on the corner of griffin 'n davie rd. when it was just a few stands and a chain link fence that surrounded them. I was born in florida and have lived in davie just about my whole life that would make 36 years next thursday ( the last native around i keep being told) I am so happy they have grown in to what they are now and i never stop shopping there, love there fresh fruit smoothies they are the bomb homemade jellies 'n jams to boot, they have everything you can imagine and i never miss a season pickin strawbeery's myself i tell all of my friends and neighbors to go there, i even got my mother in law to drive from hialeah for her produce for 7 years now. Really easy to get to as well get off 595 at davie rd. and just head south can't miss them or turnpike to griffin rd. head west to davie rd. then south west side of the road. Best strawberry's EVER! Don't just take my word for it you'll only go once and never go anywhere else again........... located in the heart of ""Downtown"" Davie. near the Bergeron Rodoe Grounds and Griff's Western Wear has been around just as long as Battens, Family owned and operated can't beat customer service like theirs anywhere anytime. When I was in Davie I was directed to this lil you pick produce place off the beaten path. The driveway in was beautifully landscaped like a 5 star hotel. They had an ""already picked"" stand as well with a wonderful selection of fruits, vegetables, flowers, local made honey and healthy breads and cookies. In the back of the stand is a shake shop where they mix up the shakes right in front of you with fresh fruit they grew themselves. They were so wonderful. Most people would complain about paying a couple of bucks for a small, but these are so thick, rich and wonderful, it is worth it. The first sip I took rolled my eyes back with pleasure. I was a happy camper. As I was at the register, the lady in front of me was elderly and was needing to sit. The cashier helped her to the rocking chairs they have just past the registers, unloaded her cart, rang up the sale, bagged the items, placed them back into the cart, and collected the money from her as she sat. She then asked the lady if she would like to sit there a little longer or would like someone to take her things to her car. At that point the lady must have been rested up, because she did not need to sit longer or want help with her bags. I was impressed. Pros: quality of products, ambiance, service, selections of products Cons: Hard to find if you havn't been there or lived in the area. more
