Editorial review from Citysearch 5/17/2013

Correction to BMP's message, Dr Baruiz has done my personal physicals for 16 years. Pre-employment? I don't know, but she does physicals for me and the half dozen friends and colleagues I have referred to her over the years. Yes, she does the physicals for Cary FD for as long as I have been with her.\r When I recommend her, I tell people up front, you probably won't be seen at your appointment time, but you will have all her time and attention when you do see her. Repeat, you will have all her time and attention when you do see her. Be patient, wait for her, you can't do better in my book.\r Staff. You be nice, they are wonderful. When we are sick we aren't always nice. Need a blood draw? Mandy is the only gal for me. I compliment the painless process to her each and every time I have it done during physicals or followups.\r Go to Dr Baruiz. She's a standard to judge other GP's by. more

Great Doctor 4/12/2010

Dr. Baruiz is an excellent doctor. She is always very thorough and spends a lot of time talking with her patients. Most doctors try to rush you out the door the minute they're done with the exam. She stays to answer questions, offer advice, etc. Highly recommend. Pros: Will spend a lot of time with you. Also very thorough. Cons: None. more

Great Physician 5/4/2009

First I would like to make a comment on the previous review. Someone had said that he was seen for his pre hire physical. Well, I happen to know that the only physicals Dr. Baruiz does are for the Fire Department. When I went in for my fire department physical it was very thorough, and very professional. I had no problem passing my physical and getting the job. Sometimes the truth hurts and the best ones are picked for the job. The staff was great. The doctor was great. I have nothing bad to say about this office and would recommend her to anyone! Pros: Great Doctor, Great Staff, everything Great Cons: Can't think of any more

Excellent Treatment! Great Staff! Passionate Doctor! 10/13/2008

I have been a patient with Dr. Baruiz for over 10 years. The first thing I would like to comment on is the ""horrible staff comments"", the staff member that they are referring to is NO LONGER with the practice and has not been for over a year. The two girls that are there now are fabulous, one of them has been there for over 4 years and the other about a year and a half. When I call they greet me by name and can always satisfy my needs. If I need an appointment I get it that day, I may have to wait a bit, which is not abnormal for this office but it is definitely worth it for the treatment you receive. They are willing to work through their lunches and into the evening to take care of their patients, you don't find that often! The Dr. is fabulous, like I mentioned before and someone else below, you may have to wait a bit, but that time she is giving to that other patient, you will receive the same quality of time, this is just one reason why you will love her as your Doctor. I have referred many many people to Dr. Baruiz's office and they all feel the same way I do. Enjoy! Pros: Doctor, Staff, Quality of Treatment Cons: Wait time more

Caring people! 3/30/2008

I would recommend Dr. Baruiz to anyone who is tired of being with large practices & even longer waits!! Last spring, I suffered a very severe, sudden & unique illness that landed me in the hospital (a coma for a few days). After my parents frantically called doctors (even UNC & Duke, who have MONTHS wait for an intial appintment!!), my bf''s mom told us about Dr. Baruiz. She & her son love her as well & have been with her for years! The staff was very caring & spoke to my parents when I was unable. Dr, Baruiz herself even called a few times to check on me! Where do you find that now, especially in our area?? I got my flu shot last fall there & again, everyone was great! Phone calls are returned promptly, questions answered & yes, there is a wait, but that is going to be present wherever you go!! They also are good about people's money /insurance situations & definitely will help you on an individual basis! I could never thank Dr. Baruiz, Mandi & the other staff members for FINALLY finding true compassion!!! Pros: level of personal care, attentiveness(both in person & by phone), affordablitiy Cons: perhaps her knowledge of my specific lifelong illness (diabetes), bit hard to understand (language) more

Most Attentive Physician ever 3/28/2008

I've been a patient of Doctor Baruiz for more than 10 years. Before I speak about her, I'd like to respond to the criticism of the office staff that was previously given. There have been a number of assistants in this office through the years and I've never experienced anything but top notch professionalism. This is a small office with a LOT of loyal patients who simply would not have remained loyal if they were treated poorly. More importantly, when Dr. Baruiz is attending you, she treats you like you are the most important person on the planet. She is attentive, compassionate and thorough beyond compare. I learned many years ago that, because she takes so much time with each patient, you can expect to wait. Let me re-iterate, you will have to wait in the office to see her. She is generally always running behind schedule.... because she is giving someone the attention they need and deserve and refuses to rush them out the door like a cookie-cutter HMO (with which I have experience). I would and do recommend Dr. Baruiz and her staff to everyone. I have no plans to ever go anywhere else. Pros: attentiveness, thoroughness, knowledge, compassion Cons: you're going to wait in the lobby so plan on it.... who cares? more

Bad Staff 4/23/2007

Hey there, first time posting on citysearch! athough I like dr baruiz i'm gonna have to agree with the first reviewer in that she has a really awful staff. i've been to quite a few doctor's office since i've lived in raleigh and i've never been treated this way by any other front desk staff before. if they could just say hi when you enter the door or at least let you know that their busy it would make a big difference. but they are really rude and do seem too lazy to have a job at a medical office. all that said, dr baruiz is still good. but she should get new staff. also, i wouldnt trust a review written by an actual employee at her office... that seems a bit sketchy to me. Pros: waits arent long Cons: staff more

Great Doctor and Friendly Staff 4/18/2007

Dr. Baruiz is one of the best doctors that I have met and worked for. I have been an employee at Dr. Baruiz's office for 3 years. I am not rude nor am I lazy. I take my patient's time and well-being into consideration. Although sometimes we run a little behind Dr. Baruiz takes her time with her patients and gives the next patient the same courtesy. We try our best to run our office as efficiently as possible, as it is a small office with one doctor. Our office staff is very friendly and patient with running a medical office with it's everyday trials. \r So- if you are looking for a fantastic doctor who cares about your well-being, Dr. Baruiz is the one! She and her staff care about our patients greatly! Pros: wonderful doctor and staff more

HORRIBLE Staff 4/7/2007

Dr. Baruiz is a good doctor but her front desk staff is the absolute the worst I have ever encountered- and from what I've heard from other patients, I am not the only one who feels this way. They are incredibly rude, extremely lazy, and obviously not fit to be working at a medical office. The best thing Dr. Baruiz could do for her business would be to fire her current front desk staff and employ people who are actually competent. \r \r Here's a typical experience... When you enter the office, the front desk staff will not greet you or even AWKNOWLEDGE your presence most of the time, and seem to preoccupied talking on their cell phones than mustering up the energy to say ""I'll be with you in a minute"". Simply horrible. On one visit, I remember sharing a glance with another patient in the waiting room who was apparently sharing my exact thoughts, ""this front desk staff is awful!"". \r \r A perfect example of this rudeness to patients is given by the next reviewer herself- who says she is an employee at Dr. Baruiz's office. Instead of reading my review and trying to learn from my critique and improve the way she deal with patients, this employee would rather scathe my comments and talk about what a wonderful employee she is! \r \r This is my honest opinon of this practice. Dr. Baruiz is great, but her staff is the worst. That shouldn't prevent people from seeing her (I still do), just don't expect to be coddled- let alone greeted- by the staff. If her front desk staff is ever fired, you can expect my rating to go up significantly, but until then I have to stand by my rating. Pros: Good Doctor Cons: HORRIBLE Front Desk Staff more
