We knew that my Mother wanted to be cremated after her death and calling around to find out prices was quite shocking. I had always read cremation was a less expensive option but according to some of the other funeral homes, if we didn't have all this other extra stuff, we wouldn't be respecting our Mother. Good guilt trip but when I talked to Bartlett Funeral Homes upon recommendation of our hospice, they could not have been nicer, it was like talking to someone who knew you (and I don't live here). There was not a heavy sales pitch or guilt trip. They made the entire event extremely easy. They did everything we asked and ""with a compassionate smile"". The pickup from my parents home was extremely reverent and respectful. I can not tell you what peace this gave us. I will definitely be recommending them to anyone and everyone. Too bad they are not in my area. more

Bartlett Funeral Home had been recommended to me by a friend so I called to get information about their funerals. The lady I talked with was very gracious, informative and helpful. She even gave me prices over the phone which were considerably less than what I had to pay at one of the big funeral homes on Poplar. She also said they accept insurance polices which the big funeral home did not. ""You don't pick a big funeral home on Poplar thinking it's going to be cheap,"" E C Davis, senior funeral director of Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar is quoted as saying in an April 2010 Commercial Appeal article. So, my family has been instructed not to pick a big funeral home on Poplar when my time comes. My choice is Bartlett Funeral Home. more

I called to get some basic info about where a friend was buried since his family did not tell me until 3 years after he died that he had in fact died. I was told that they could not give me any info at all. I told them I was in the funeral industry and I know there is info that they can in fact give me such as where he has been placed but she refused. I asked to speak to the funeral director that handled the services and she said that she was a funeral director and she was not going to give me any info. Bottom line if you want your grieving family and friends to be treated well and with care do not use Bartlett Funeral Home. Everyone else may have had a chance to say goodbye and grieve but I did not and she should have recognized that. more
