We chose Bartlett Tree Experts based on their arborist consultation, and particularly, their very professional pamphlet that they left with us. Based on that pamphlet, we decided to forego a second quote, and contracted with Bartlett for $775.63 to install some support cables, and to clean up the tree.
Bartlett made an appointment to work on our tree, which was affected by recent storms. They did not show up on the day of the appointment, and did not call to update us. The next day, they also did not show up, and did not call us. We called Bartlett on the following day, and the person we spoke to said they were “ just picking up the phone to call us,” and had been swamped by recent storm business, and said that our tree had high priority. They set another appointment, and showed up for work a half hour earlier than scheduled on that day. It was one of the hottest days of the year. A supervisor spoke to us at the start, and that was the only interaction we’ve had with Bartlett since. Two people spent about 3.5 hours working on the tree, and another person was here for a much shorter time, working with the cables. My wife was home the entire time, and when I got home from work and looked at the tree, I thought surely Bartlett must be coming back on another day to finish the work. I realized after a few days that they must have thought they were done. Again, no one spoke to us once the work started. I received the invoice today, which I will pay, but I’m just not happy with the level of service that I received. I didn’t think that tree trimming would be on my task list after contracting with Bartlett, but the tree still needs trimming.
I believe Bartlett probably performed 90% of what they stated they would do, but they seemed to have done the absolute minimum they could to get out of the heat, invoice us, and move onto the next contract.
