I was wary of the Wilkes-Kings Bookstore when it first took the place of the old campus store, but now I must say, it has won my heart. It's close enough that it's still convenient for those crazy college kids, but despite its school affiliation it has become a place for the Wilkes-Barre community to come together and share themselves intellectual and creatively. With their constant events and open mic nights every last Tuesday of the month, B&N has become somewhere where even the slightly tone def can share music, poetry, stories, and simple coffee. When students need school books they are always sure to find an attendant ready to help them find whatever they need, even if it needs to be special ordered. The store is a great asset to the community, branching from it's corporate mold and reaching into the heart of W-B.
