Barnes & Noble

This is a great bookseller that has a great selection. They have many books of many different types. They are also very accesible due to how many of them there are. The store has a comfortable attitude that is not at all pretentious. I think that this is one of the better book sellers in Denver that I enjoy going to every time. more

Barnes & Noble (B&N) is so fun to visit. This bookstore is huge, with nearly every type of book imaginable. It also has a large children's area, a music section, and a Starbucks coffee station. At B&N, reading for hours is perfectly fine. And you won't have to buy the book if you don't want to. You can just find an interesting book, sit down in an over-sized chair, and read as long as you would like. It's a great place for research, too. If you're wanting to find an abundance of books on one subject, check this place out. For work or play, Barnes & Noble is the place to be. more

I'm not sure if it's due to pressure form Denver-based (and growing!) Tattered Cover, but the Barnes and Noble chains are definitely coming up in the world. The addition of coffee bars and comfy seating gives all of their locations a great ambiance. A recent visit to the Littleton location had me on a search for resources on Littleton hiking trails. The woman whom I approached was quick, courteous and very helpful--leading me directly to what I wanted and then leaving me alone to browse (I hate being hovered over!). Upon finding a multitude of books on my subject, I plopped down in a comfy chair by the window and proceeded to peruse to my heart's content. Some folks are distracted by the piped-in music played, but I like it. It's usually instrumental only and quite subtle. In fact, my only distraction is the rude customers who insist on conducting their cell phone conversations while I am trying to read! more

Need a new place to hang out? Try Barnes & Noble on Bowles and Wadsworth. The large bookstore features a central café where you can order coffee and treats, plus a large selection of books and magazines to browse while you eat/drink. Although the café can be busy, especially on the weekends, the seating makes for a good place to study, work, or simply browse the internet, and you can find more comfortable seating scattered throughout the store. The bookstore also has a large movies and music section, making a little something for everyone! more
