No announcements necessary 1/7/2007

I frequent Barnes and Noble once a week with my two sisters. We enjoy browsing the books and our vanilla lattes. The kids behind the coffee counter are wonderful! They know us by name and usually remember what are order is.However, the management has changed and it's not as cozy. By 10:15pm they are announcing that the store will be closing and they do this every 10 minutes. It's annoying and it says to me 'get out'. They have also decreased their staff and the store doesn't look as 'picked up' as it used to. The furniture needs a good cleaning or reupholstering.\r \r Overall, I enjoy going to this location because of it's convenience. However, I would like to see more staff and less overhead announcments. more

Nice place to buy or just browse 9/6/2005

The whole family loves going to this store because we never know what we will find. My wife who is an avid reader always walks away with a book or two. My older son who also loves to read can be found in the children's section perusing the books or in the over in periodicals checking out the latest Yugioh magazine. The store is easy to find and the prices are pretty good expecially since they have a wide selection of sale and clearance items. more

Long on product, short on literacy 7/13/2005

It's convenient if one doesn't want to drive to Columbia. It's large enough to have a good selection of books and the coffee's good. But it's pure retail; the staff could be selling shoes or lamps. When I asked about ordering a copy of "In Pharaoh's Army," I watched the guy at the Information Desk type in "ferro" to do the search. That's depressing. I prefer a higher level of literacy in bookstore staff. more
