Barnes & Noble

I have been shopping at Barnes & Noble in Broomall since they opened fifteen years ago. Surely their service has improved over the years. I would say within the last 5 years I've noticed a much more personable staff. I'm sure it has something to do with the management. I was curious about the customer Virginia F.'s comment about "getting no assistance." I'm pretty sure she was actually in the Borders only 3 miles away. They have the worst service and their store was messy. I'm sure their people are nice but they just don't go out of their way for you as I have experienced in my Barnes & Noble. In fact, I stood behind a customer within the last week (as I shop there weekly) who didn't know what store she was in. She was trying to use a Borders gift card. It was probably that woman. Well, I was certainly NOT impressed with her. more

I have been there to purchase books a few times, and I wasn't impressed. They gave no assistance or service. They also were not near as friendly as they should be. They are in a fairly richer section and the prices show that. If they don't have the book you want they can order it. We have several other book stores in the area that I would prefer. Such as borders. They give a much friendlier atmosphere and you can sit and read, all day if you want to, and then purchase the book or put it back. Very nice to there customers. PROS: big selection of all kinds of books CONS: also, big price for most of there books. more

For being a small store they have a pretty nice selection. Very clean and very bright, it is a nice place to look for a book. Has many other nice stores in the shopping center which makes it that much more attractive. PROS: Great selection for a small store. CONS: more
