I am fairly new to the area and was in need of a great stylist. I was referred to Tara and I couldn`t be happier. She is awesome with color and a perfectionist with haircuts. Sandie is an amazing hair stylist. I have been going to her for 6 years and couldn't recommend a better stylist. She's up to date on all the newest and latest trends and does great color. Sandie is very personable and it is a treat to come see her. Not only do I look forward to getting my hair done, I look forward to visiting with her. I always leave feeling beautiful and rejuvinated. Well, you asked me where I had my hair cut and I will tell you!! Janna has been finishing my hair for YEARS!! Lots of people have asked my who is my beautician and I have always recommended San Marcos Hair Company! I started with Janna before she owned the business. She is so competent and thoughtful, she will meet me at any time I need to complete my hair...7:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. She never skimps on a thing, shampoo, head massage, rinse, moisturizer, cut, finish. Her business is ALWAYS clean and well managed. The personnel are friendly and helpful. Janna is a born manager and I like that. Her clients range from city and council officials, Texas State administrators and professors to regular people like me. Students love her. She is fun and funny as well as professional. I usually never write reviews but I absolutely love Crystal and San Marcos Hair Co. Before I was having to drive to Austin to get a hair cut but thankfully now I can make a five min drive and still get an amazing hair cut. Crystal was able to make my flat, fine, thin-hair look full and so gorgeous, She also was able to cut my bangs perfectly, I get comments on them daily. When I first moved up to school at Texas State, I knew I NEEDED to find some place to cut my hair. Previous to this, I have had the same lady cut my hair for 7 years. I came to San Marcos Hair Co and got my haircut by Marina. AMAZING! She did such a great job! She's friendly and knows how to cut your hair the exact way you envision it! I had heard a lot of great things about this salon and thought I would try it out for myself. I have had a few bad experiences with other salons in San Marcos so I thought I would try San Marcos Hair Co. out. Mary was the stylist who cut my hair and she was wonderful! She was very nice, and had wonderful communication skills. Sometimes hair stylists don't listen to what you want but Mary listened to my suggestions and I came out with exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone! more

Graduating and forgot to get my hair done. I Went to Crystal because she does my boyfriends hair and she colored my hair. I really like it and she did a good job and didn't take more than a couple of hours with all of my hair. I hate sitting for a long period of time. I appreciated that she got me in on short notice. I have gotten plenty of comps from friends on my new shade and style. The salon has a cool view and seems to always be full. Hopefully she will stay there longer, because I just found my new hair girl. Now just to find a job....... Pros: moderately priced Cons: somewhat loud more

I went to The San Marcos Hair Company on a referal from several friends who gave raves about Crystal! I have always been a little weary about getting my hair done in San Marcos since I am from Houston and have had the same girl do my hair since high school. It's been hard lately getting home with school and work, so I took the advice and tried her out. I LOVE the results. In all fairness, my girl back home did a good job, but after Crystal did it, I never knew my hair could look so sweet! She knew all about my hair type and told me different ways I could fix it. Also she was a little more honest than most and told me ways that my hair wouldn't look so good. I had a few ideas such as a perm, but i learned a few things. That was pretty great since i've been told that I would look good in hair styles that my hair would never in a million years be good for. She saved me some money and a headache. Also the salon was way clean and I got a good vibe from the other stylist. Everyone was friendly even though they were all occupied with other clients. I'm not sure who all works there since their were only 3 girls there, but I would go to any in case of an emergency. Crystal Abbott is absolutely incredible!!!!!!! I started going to her when I asked who did an acquaintance's hair about 4 years ago. She has transformed my hair, and as a result my appearance. I now drive in from Round Rock too see her and just sent another (like the 5th?) client her way (also driving in from Round Rock).\r \r Crystal is young and peppy, she has an uber keen ability with color and knows how to asses a style that works to compliment your features. Adding to that a funky flair makes the perfect combination. \r I have another friend who lives in Virginia and whenever she flies in, she makes an appointment herself. And on top of that, my friend has her beautician's hair license too. I know testimonies are important, and the biggest one I can offer was the first time my husband saw me after I went in and had Crystal work her magic; his response was: ""Wow- you have supermodel hair!"" Talk about confidence booster- also, I cannot tell you how many compliments I receive daily on my hair- it's certainly the 1st thing people notice about me. \r \r The San Marcos Hair Company is clean, bright and airy. I always feel welcome whenever I go. The other stylists there are friendly, talkative, and help create a fun, comfortable environment.
