I used to go to Barca a couple times a month but stopped going because it became a bit tired and the crowd seemed to be mostly of the Belltown and Bellevue set out to visit the Hill. I thought I would stop by with a friend last night and see if the crowd had improved and it had. The service however was the WORST I have ever experienced. The bartender was good when he gave us our first round but when we moved to a booth we were given the cold shoulder by the servers and told by the buser that she couldn't send one over. No excuse for that level of service. I didn't leave a tip and they decided to add one anyway. NEVER AGAIN! I also will make sure to share this awful experience with everyone I know. The only reason Barca is getting two stars is the bartender was good. more

I really enjoy this place on weekday evenings for chilling out after work or class. The ambiance is fabulous, and it's really fun if you are able to grab a seat in the big couches. It gets a little loud for my taste after about 9:00 on the weekends--there's no dancing, so I'm not sure why they keep the music so loud. I hate having to scream at the person sitting 6 inches away from me. But it's my favorite place for a snack and a cocktail after a busy day! (If you want food, the Barca Tortas are fabulous and come with frozen grapes--yummy and fun). Pros: great atmosphere, good food Cons: can be loud on weekend nights more

Amazing Staff!! 7/17/2007

The place is slow during the week but it defiantly gets crowed on the weekends. Wait time for a drink is about 5 min, but the bar tenders are friendly and so are the bouncers :) Pros: scene, music, vibe, staff Cons: wait time more

The best place to enjoy a cocktail with friends for an amazing experience. Barca has the best drinks, atmosphere and service in Seattle. Go have a drink and see for yourself! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Great place to discover new bands. 12/4/2006

It was the very first bar I entered after arriving in Seattle a couple of hours earlier. Two promising rock - drum 'n base style groups performed accompanied with dancing acts. I enjoyed the music and the show although downstairs it was remarkably cold. Upstairs was all warm and cosy and a little alternative. I'm sure I'll visit Barca in the future again to discover some more new bands and have some more beers. Pros: Great place to discover new bands! Cons: Pretty cold downstairs :( more

Best Bar in Seattle 2/19/2006

My boyfriend and I frequent this bar with our friends, and bring all visiting out-of-towners through here. We have been entirely impressed with the cocktails and service each time we get a chance to go to Barca. When we bring people in for the first time, they are always in awe of the beautiful decor and the gals love the ladies restroom. We love the food at Barca, too- I recommend the salmon or assorted cheeses, it's such a nice reprive from typical bar food. This is the best bar in Seattle. Pros: Cocktails, Service, Food more

Best Bar on the Hill 9/26/2005

The staff is amazing. The bartenders are quick, sexy, and NICE!!!!! The upstairs was great for my party (vodka bar). Everyone was setted right away, with a cocktail server close by. She was on it, even down to lighting my smoke everytime. I think she had eyes in the back of her head.=) The food was light, perfect for a night of drinking. Barca is my new watering hole. I went to Barca with a group of friends and loved it. It wasnt overly crowded, the atmosphere was great and we could have conversation without feeling like we couldnt hear one another or like we were on top of other people. The big, velvety booths were very roomy for groups. The drinks were great and the two cocktail waitresses we had were great, they were quick and friendly. Barça is crowded on weekends, but on weeknights, there is more space. The walls are lined on one side with large curvy booths and tables that are quite comfortable and intimate. I reacently attended a birthday party in the vodka bar at Barca-what a blast! Excellent decor and music; rock'n but you don't have to shout. Great cocktails and service thats right on time but not fussy. My wife helped plan the event and said that the staff was smooth on that end also. Great time, can't wait to get back. Small, Dim, and Ok. 8/11/2004

Many candles give out a relaxing dim light in this bar, making Barca a decent option for drinking with a date on Capital Hill. The environment carried mellow electronic music in the background with a crowd mainly filled with ages of mid to late 20s. The drinks seem to touch the pricey side. The location had small flocks of people, but was not crowded. The best seats are the couches that line the north wall, but there are very few of them. Barca is a decent spot to go chill with a few buddies or a date, but there are much better places nearby to check out the cuties. The best bar in town! 4/12/2004

It is great to go into a bar where you can seat at the bar, have a drink and hold a conversation with the person next to you without having to yell. Barça has a well-decorated and sexy ambiance, where the atmosphere is welcoming, the bartenders are beautiful and friendly, the music selection is great, and the drinks are excelent - I make Barça my first choice! You should check it out and you must try their out of this world chocolate martini. more
