Not Easy To Deal With 10/16/2009

Can't get to Bantings without having to go thru miles of traffic, The Huey Long Bridge is being worked on now. I was sorely disappointd with the quality of plants, looked like a disaster area. not impressed with the advice I was given on two out of three trips. The prices were cheap, but it wasn't worth the fuel money I spent to get there. I will never go back. more

Banting's offers the best selection of plants and you can pretty much trust that whatever they carry will do well in our climate (as with most locally owned nurseries). They describe themselves as ""no frills"" which is accurate enough, but the grounds are well organized and maintained. The only warnings I can possibly add is that you'll want to wear old shoes if it's rained recently. The location is accessible, but keep an eye on the Huey P. Long construction status if you're an eastbanker. Pros: Selection, Prices more

Banting Nursery 8/10/2008

This nursery has every possible native plant you could want, and some you probably didn't know about. Their selection and prices are above the rest. The staff is very helpful. It's probably out of your way, but well worth the drive. more
