From the moment you walk in until your order is finally written down by the waiter, you've had more than enough time to figure out that you are about to be ""had"". This is confirmed some time later when you finally get the check. I visited Bancock Grill for lunch with great expections after hearing other reviews. Unfortunately I was highly disappointed. I ordered the Pad Thai dish as a ""softball pitch"" to this restaurant and thought that this standard Thai dish would be hard to mess up. The dining experience that followed is best described as an ""epic failure"" - a term I forbid my 12 year old to use - only now I truly understand the meaning. The Coconut Chicken Soup left me feeling cheated for flavor - much less the main ingredients. The Pad Thai dish itself was dry, tasteless, and mindful of a pre-made plate of food that might be served on an airline - except you kinda expect it as part of flying... not from a restaurant. I'm not totally sure where my $22+ went (lunch for 2), but it was not for ingredients as my dish only included about 6 - 7 shrimp, or for service, or plate presentation. After my waiter used what looked like his personal drinking cup to refill my Diet Coke I finally realized that enough was enough. Pay the bill... out the door... mark this one off my list. more

You are kidding me, Right? 1/25/2011

Upon entering the establishment you are surprised at how small it is. At least I was. There were only 2 servers for 15+ tables and they were arranged very close. If you are a big guy, you will more than likely be a little confined. Once seated, we waited a good 10 minutes before being asked for our order. This was accomplished by a very young and what appeared to be a very inexperienced waiter. Reason that I have came to that conclusion is that he neglected to take our drink order. I ordered a basic Thai dish of pad see ew and coconut chicken soup. The soup was terrible, nothing more than chicken broth and coconut milk, which tasted sour. Very minimal chicken, as well. Next the Main: pad see ew, now I am not trained in the ways of Thai cooking but I can tell you that this dish was almost returned. The noodles were way past ?Al dente? and were ?Over Done Ta?. To a point of being rubbery and sticky. The Pork was well, well, well to tell truth well done. Broccoli was crunchy and the only portion of the dish that had its nature flavor was the bok choy. Let?s be honest, I am just trying to be nice. The D?cor was somewhat disorganized with traditional Thai and some crayon/coloring from some children I would imagine. I have to comment on the ?Butcher Block Paper? that they place on the tablecloths. I am thinking it cuts down on the laundry bill. It is really in poor taste and it sticks to your arms while dining. It does make clean up a breeze. Another note: the waiter was walking around with what appeared to be a personal cup refilling drinks. Bottom line Up Front (BLUF): I know what I like and I DON?T LIKE the Bangkok Grill in Covington, Ga. more
