Positives: The service staff kept my water filled. The service staff handled my check promptly. There was plenty of seating. The negatives: The atmosphere was like going to a Perkins! Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Its very popular and they dont take reservations, so call 20 minutes before you arrive and put your name on the list! Its popularity means lots of conversation around you, but the booths make the atmosphere cozy even so. Great fun! After reading another review of Bandera I had to go back to see if things had changed. They hadn't!! The food is as good as ever, the libations are the same and the service is overwhelming! Another reviewer made gross misstatements about Bandera. The service is never bad, if an order is wrong or cold it will be replaced, the staff will bend over backward to make your visit pleasant. The only reason there is a wait at Bandera is because it it so popular! The atmosphere is warm and cozy-the rotisserie fire in the back of the restaurant adds to the warm feeling one gets at Bandera. We had to go, because of such great reviews! It was aweful! I can't say a single good thing about our experience - long wait (no seats) even with reservation, cold food, extremely loud and obnoxious, really poor service! Will absolutely never go back! more

Good service. Excellent food. Awesome atmosphere. Pricy, but within reason. I've had a hard time trying to find restaraunts in Sacramento that have all of those things in common. Their roasted chicken and mashed potatoes are heavenly. We did have to wait 30 minutes for a table on a Tuesday night, so try to make reservations or be prepared to hang out at the bar. I went to Sacramento for business last year. And I ate at Bandera's for the first time. It was so good that, the following summer, I went to Sacramento for vacation. My niece lives there so it was not just because Bandera's is there. But it sure didn't hurt. What a hip place. Filled with beautiful people for table servers. And beautiful customers as well. I'll admit I'm a sucker for trendy. But Bandera's has it all. And I have not even told you about the food!! Nothings bad. It's all good! And the corn bread is a must! With what ever you're having. But the best is the banana cream pie desert. Now that's the way banana cream pie should be made! Yes.......it's that good! Why Bandera's is so low on this chart I don't know. The moment you walk in, you're gonna love this restraunt. The atmosphere is so great and staff there are so friendly. Food is excellent and if you enjoy here, I recomend a restraunt calle ""Rutherford Grilled"" in Napa valley, owned by the same company. This restraunt doesn't take reservation so the best way to get a table is to call about 30min prior to your arrival and put yourself on the waiting list.
