A work in progress 10/28/2007

Seeing the Bamboo Room open again, great surprise.Husband & I just went there 4 the Halloween bash on Fri,Oct. 27th.Had a great time in spite of a missing cocktail waitress w/our credit card.Bartenter was apologetic & weren't charged 4 1st round of drinks & rec'd card back at the end of the night.Went 2 another bartenter who made the drinks better & serviced us well.Prices are a bit higher than they use to be,not 2 excited about that.Missing alot of tables & chairs in downstairs section which is now set up w/couches 4 reserved people buying expensive bottle service only which they also already have those booths around the dance floor 4 those people.Have only a few tables left in that section, but in desperate need of more table & chairs 4 singles or just couples who go there not needing bottle service but would like 2 sit down after dancing.Asked 4 owners/manager of club & he did come 2 table we sat at which we felt was considerate & Good PR.Have 2 come early, between 8-10pm 2 get a table & not be overcharged 4 getting into the club. Owner gave us a rarely given I'm sure, reserved card 4 our table because we've been long time Bamboo Room attenders in Lombard & Schamburg in past years w/yr passes.BUT beware of those people who ignore RESERVED signs,& sit at your table & take it over while you're gone dancing. How RUDE! If U were 1of them people, try being more considerate & think of how U would have felt if it had been done to U! Missed the restaurant but Loved the Pizza booth set up just inside the door.Good combination of crowd aging from the 21-30 hot girls & guys mostly, also some 30-40yrs & us along w/a few others between the 40-50yrs old who still like 2 dance along w/any crowd regardless of age.(by the way I don't look my age so I fit in) Love Marge who attends the bathroom downstairs, known her for years.Would have loved 2 give it 5 but needs a little more tweeking! Will try it again and see how it improves as it progresses. Pros: Dancing, music Cons: Service, pricing, seating more

ABORT! ABORT! 9/30/2007

We went to the Bamboo Room after we heard it was under new owners thinking it had to be better than the dump it was before, but we were WRONG. The cover was $10--way overpriced for the crappy house music and a sparse crowd inside. There have to be hot guys in the the suburbs somewhere but this place repels them. It's the lint brush of the suburbs. There weren't any hot chicks either, except for us. If you like 4 foot tall men and 60 year old ladies, this is the place for you. There were plenty of tables but no chairs. The newly revamped Bamboo Room is the reason none of our friends in the city will never go out in the suburbs again. Pros: No lines for entry, drinks, or bathroom. Cons: Everything else. more

BAMBOO IS BETTER THAN EVER 7/26/2007

The new owners at Bamboo have made changes that make this place great again. They did raise the drink prices (from $1 to $3 - big deal). This keeps the riff-raff out that was ruining it before. The new crowd is more attractive, wealthier, more intelligent and actually of age. I now feel safe here. I can have a great night out with the girls and not worry about drunken idiots starting fights. I heard that they are going to remodel it in the near future too. I cannot wait! How nice would it be to actually have amazing Chicago Nightlife in Schaumburg! In my opinion, if you cannot spend more than $10 on a night out - you should stay in. This is the place to go to meet quality people (that actually know the difference between there, their and they are). I have a feeling this was their plan all along - and I truly appreciate the changes. Plus, with the new DJs, I will be there a lot!!! Well done! more

the new bamboo room 7/25/2007

So if your planning on going to the Bamboo room in Schaumburg, well dont. They have new owners and have changed things very much. Rumer is there trying to pull it off like the city and there trying to luer people in now by cheap drinks and only letting the pretty people in, but soon enough they are going to be changing the name and raising those prices like the city, so beware. And about there staff, they decided to hire old bamboo room worse staff back and even brought back old staff that got fired from there for being idiots, thats all I want to see. There drink specials are no more, no more first fridays and there dollar drink specials, and sundays are no longer. Really people, dont go here, you will not be happy, there trying to be a down town want to be and that is it. Pros: Its the only spot still in schaumburg that has a somewhat good nightlift Cons: There going to screw you over in a month or two more

Good idea, poor execution 11/23/2006

This was a good idea, but everytime we have gone here it's not as much fun as other places are. Parking is almost non-existant & the valets aren't very good. Once inside you have to push though a bar area to get to the stairs to try & get out of the crush. It does have good people watching from the balconies surrounding the dance floor. & it does have drummers on platforms going along to the music which is interesting. Pros: dancing Cons: parking, lines, prices, no wine list more

Great alternative to the ordinary! 11/6/2006

Tired of the Rush & Division scene, my girlfriends and I ventured out to the Bamboo Room a couple of weeks ago. It was such a welcomed change! The music and crowd were great and we had a blast. We have since decided to make it a point to go to the Bamboo Room now once a month! more

Not So Much 10/20/2005

If you are looking for a dance club in Schaumburg this is it. If you are looking to go on a group outing for dinner-try again! The kitchen no longer exsists-so I hope your not hungry. Overall-it's a club-nothing more. Pros: dance Cons: Bad service, parking is horrible, very over priced more

Finally 3/20/2004

A great place comes to the suburbs! I have been several times with friends and family for dinner and have to say that the food is outstanding. I've had the Chilean Sea Bass and the bone in Ribeye...Unbelievable. The Poo Poo platter has been ordered every time (the ribs are my favorite!) The prices aren't over the top. The wine list was good but not great. They have a little tropical bar upstairs that is I like alot. I've seen other rooms that I think are party rooms you can rent. (I haven't asked) I stayed for the nightclub part after dinner twice and it was packed with people dancing to music I actually know! I'll be back again and again! Pros: Great Food, Decor/Ambience, Loved the Music Cons: , Better Wine list, Better Parking more

This Place Was Great... 3/8/2004

until they officially opened. I was here a few times before the grand opening and enjoyed that it wasn't too crowded and that drinks were reasonably priced. The drummers are definitely their gimmick - but its not a bad gimmick to have. I just wish they would show off more. Food is pretty good. Bouncers are rude and play the "club" game, letting the beautiful people slide on the rules while the rest of us have to adhere to every little piece of the code. The loung is nice. I was hoping this wasn't going to turn into the typical club... it did. Pros: atmosphere, Tiki Lounge, Drummers Cons: , CROWDED!, typical club more
