Stayed in Seattle for a day en-route to Alaska cruise and was suggested this by a pharmacist at a local Walgreens. Being Jewish we wanted kosher food and this place was perfect. ...

Decent Veg Food; Dismal Service 3/29/2008

Their food tastes good but may leave you feeling queasy, especially if you have a sensitive tummy. If you do, stay away from the breaded/fried food like Sweet and Sour Chicken, and go for stir-fry instead. My food today was served only partially heated. But that's the first time it's ever happened to me there. What is more regular are impatient waiters, who may be unavailable or can be difficult to deal with (depends who). As a female, I notice that I always get better service if I come with a man (and it doesn't matter how many years I've been going there, this is still the case). Due to the language barrier, there may be some problems with orders (often wrong) or reservations (also problems here, even if you are clear and confirm). But, the food arrives in reasonable time and is totally vegan (hard to find in Seattle). more

Vegan kosher Chinese... wow! 2/17/2008

I had dinner here recently with two friends from the East Coast who both keep kosher; plus, one of them is a vegetarian (so am I). Seattle doesn't have very many options when it comes to kosher food, especially meatless kosher, and we are so glad we found Bamboo Garden! We ordered a tofu and vegetables soup to share and a variety of fake chicken dishes (General Tsao's, a noodle dish, and a chicken and vegetables dish). One of my friends asked for her dish to be prepared mild, but when she tasted it, it was much hotter than my food, which I ordered ""medium."" When she pointed out the problem, the staff promptly replaced her food. Other that, everything was great! We came in about 30 minutes before the restaurant was supposed to close. They didn't rush us and let us talk and enjoy the food, which was tasty and plentiful. Pros: delicious vegan kosher Chinese, parking more

mouth watering great food 2/10/2008

Absolutely fantastic food...if you have any reservations about vegetarian food this is the place that will convince you just how good vegetarian can be. My mouth waters just thinking about it...be sure and try the sweet and sour chicken, it is terrrific. Great dinig experience in a funky little setting. Take in a hockey game before or after dinner, make it a great night out. Enjoy! more

Delicious 10/25/2007

I would recommend the wonton soup and their mushroom ""eel"" is SO delicious. Peanut pudding was a tasty dessert. Only downside was their heavy-handed spices on certain dishes. more

park there and die 5/27/2007

My roomate is a vegetarian and considered going to bamboo gardens. we went to park in their lot, only to find it is $10 for 0-2 hours....HA! some guy came out yelling at us about parking and how we didn't pay so we left and went to a neighboring restaraunt. We needed to revisit the neighboring restaraunt the same day.... my roomate turned around in the parking lot for 30 seconds or less...and by the time I got back there was the same man and an old woman writing down her license plate....for what? Perhaps these caloused idiots should focus more on their food and less on condemming poor seattle drivers who simply tried to turn round. Pros: absolutely none!!! Cons: parking and service more

Its all in what you order 10/26/2006

Tricky tricky. Order the wrong thing and you could really get something unappetizing. Order the right thing and be prepared for delights. I avoid the fake meat and stick to vegeteable dishes noodles and the daily corn chowder soup more

Yummy Vegetarian 8/22/2006

I'm a non Vegetarian person, but do love eating Vegetarian food, if you can understand that. I went here recently for the first time. It was a pretty busy Saturday night, but non the less I can see why. The food is DELISH. We started off with hot and sour soup, which was pretty good, and we had thier "meat" dishes. It wasn't at all bad, It may be the same "chicken" with different sauce, but it was very good. The vegetables are also very good, and not over-sauced. Thier dining room gets cramped and you feel like you're crashing the next table's dinner party, but hey, the food is so good, that you will end up not noticing it. I highly recommend this place for good vegetarian food. The service was jumpy, but it was also busy. The waiter was attentive towards us, but like I said it was jumpy. Pros: Great food, that leaves you full and happy Cons: can get pretty crowded more

great value, good vegetarian food 2/24/2006

My wife and I went here for the first time a few days back. After the reviews from here and friends, our expectations were set quite high and we were not dissapointed. They have free parking, the seating was prompt and the service good (we liked the fact they they dint bother us too often and at the same time dint leave us waiting for them!) The food was quite good and better than some of the other veggie/kosher only places we have been too. The 'meat' dishes we ordered were pretty good too and it was good value for the money. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place for a try and are sure the visit again. Pros: parking, good value Cons: no frills more

Good food, bad service. 2/15/2006

My boyfriend and I visited Bamboo Garden for the first time a while ago. Although there was no one else waiting before us, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Then our waiter proceeded to ignore us in favor of the large table next to us. The food was really good, but the service left much to be desired. Maybe we'll give it another try at a less busy time. Pros: Good food Cons: Long wait, Bad service more
