It's the only place I've ever danced at but BOY does it ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love dancing there and they offer so much and they are extremely friendly. There are small class sizes which is a total plus. It's sort of like a family there. I LOVE IT!!! more

Wonderful Place to Learn Dance 1/24/2006

What a joy to have found Tom Morrell and Ballet Etc.! My daughter has blossomed under his care and tutorage. His instructors are all knowledgeable and caring - and the smaller class size ensures quality instruction. There's none of the cut-throat, always getting parents to pay for something syndrome that other dance studios have. Costumes are provided and recitals are professional and fun. You won't find bells and whistles - just top-notch dance instruction at an affordable price with caring adults that will mentor your child. The company associated with Ballet Etc., NW Michigan Ballet Theatre is extraordinary! If you want your child to excel and be trained properly from the start, this is the place to go! Dance Instruction for All Ages 11/26/2005

Tom Morrell, founder of Ballet Etc, is a top notch teacher (he was named Michigan Dance Teacher of the Year not too long ago). He keeps the class size small in order to guarantee the 1:1 attention that is necessary to assure proper technique. He is wonderful with children. He offers programs for dancers of all ages and abilities. His classes are affordable and so are his recitals.   • M - Th: 1am - 9pm; Fri: 1am - 7pm; Sat: 9am - 5pm. Thomas Morrell began his dance training at Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education,Majoring in Physical Education and Dance. He earned his Master of Fine Arts Degree from The Universityof Michigan in 1981 and began dancing professionally with the Harbinger Dance Company in Detroit. He spent five years in Flint as Principal Dancer with Ballet Michigan and three more years with Memphis Concert Ballet before moving back to his native Michigan. Ballet Etc. has provided dance education to the Traverse City region since 1996. We offer classes in Ballet,Modern,Jazz,Tap,Irish and Pre-School Dance for ages 3 through adult. Ballet Etc. is a competition-free dance studio. Ballet Etc. provides the tools with which to continue the pursuit of technical excellence. We believe that strong ballet training is the foundation for all dance styles and although not required,all students are encouraged to take ballet.
