Good Food/Good Service 4/1/2012

The menu had a lot of variety and uniqueness and the food was absolutely delicious. It's an awesome atmosphere when there is a game going on. The servers were friendly and provided good service. Price was good for what you get. I've already been back numerous of times! more

Fantastic Food & Service 2/2/2011

My boyfriend and I dined at the Backyard Bistro before the NCState/Duke game last night. The service was incredible and the food was delicious. Not to mention how fast we recieved our food. I witnessed outstanding teamwork amongst all of their servers. The restaurant was packed and they still managed to do an excellent job. Thank you for making our experience a great one. We will tell our friends and we will be back soon!!! more

Our Favorite Restaurant 1/26/2011

The Backyard Bistro is our family's favorite restaurant. Everything on the menu is great. I like to get the hamburgers. When I bite into the hamburger, the meat bursts with juices, it is unbelievable how fresh it is. You can taste the excellent quality of the meat. And the french fries are the best I have ever had. My family of four has eaten almost everything on the menu. The ribs are so good and they actually fall of the bone. I also like the homemade potato salad. It is all made fresh and you can taste it. My children get the kid's meals and they are made just like the regular menu items. The kid's meal portion sizes are so big my 10-year-old can't finish her cheeseburger. We also like to customize the hamburgers with extra swish cheese and bacon. I recently have gotten the carrot cake and the blue berry cobbler. Get the blue berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. When the heat of the blue berry cobbler meets the cold of the vanilla ice cream it is unbelievable. They are the best I have ever had anywhere. The service is friendly and the owner greets you at your table. We go to Backyard Bistro anytime, but it is especially fun to go before or after a Carolina Hurricanes game or any other event at the RBC Center across the street. Here is a true story. My 5-year-old, given a choice of anywhere to eat for her birthday, picks the Backyard Bistro because she loves the macaroni and cheese. She picks this restaurant over Chuck E. Cheese's. What else needs to be said. Go to the Backyard Bistro it is Our Favorite Restaurant. more

Great Place! Always here 1/22/2011

I love the backyard bistro. My friends and I frequent the restaurant all the time because I live right up the street. I have never had greasy fries and the servers and bartenders are always very friendly. Joe, the owner, tries very hard to please every single customer. I wonder if any of these people brought up any of these issues with the servers or management. The bistro wouldn't have a cult following if it wasn't so good! Try the critical violation or the taco salad... you won't be disappointed. more

Don't Bother Eating Here 1/13/2011

You'd think with their proximity to the RBC, they'd try harder to offer good food/service. Instead they act like they're the ""only game"" in town. OK place to stop in for a beer, but don't wait for a table. I've never gotten good food or good service here. FYI - when I figured out what ""geminitwin,"" another reviewer, was talking about, I just about fell out. Google ""Sam Kinison Dr Ruth Grilled Cheese"" to see what a Backyard Bistro Poppie Burger has in common with Dr Ruth. I guarantee you'll never eat a Backyard Bistro burger (or a grilled cheese sandwich) again... more

Awful - Name Should Be ""Back Alley Bistro""!! 1/13/2011

Food is mediocre & overpriced, service is lackluster, management's attitude is worse. Mystery BBQ (not Carolina/not Memphis - what is that swimming in bottled BBQ sauce??) When I looked at their online menu, the picture of the ""Big Poppie"" Burger reminded me of Sam Kinnison's bit about Dr. Ruth (you'll have to google it - too disgusting to mention here...) more

Food is not that great. 1/3/2011

Went to the Backyard Bistro for the very first time over the holidays. I am not impressed. I would have liked to think that the food would be good, given the fact that the atmosphere is for people to stay, hang around have a few beers, etc. I was not impressed. Food came out luke warm at best, the appetizers were not done well, the salads were made of mostly iceberg lettuce Just overall not a place for any decent food. Great screens for games though. more

Best BBQ around 11/27/2010

I had the Backyard Bistro cater a event for me.The food was wonderful and the guy Allen was great. I will use them again. more

French Fries are BIO-Diesel Quality 11/10/2010

We had a great meal when the BB catered the Wolfpack Club meal. Decided to then try it. Went over to Tom O'Brien's Coach Show, three times....probably NOT again. Portions are great. Hamburgers are very good. Club Sandwich was great. BUT, the FRIES are GREASY...as were the Onion Rings. We ate a local Mexican restaurant tonight with our GS. He got fries and they were light and NOT greasy. My wife commented that a great Burger and Ribs place like the BB should go to Fiesta Mexicana to see how THEY do the fries. Had indigestion every time. Wait staff was great...beer was cold and we got good value, but you can't avoid the GREASE. Maybe they need Willie Nelson to help them get rid of the GREASE....since he is a Bio-Diesel freak. We often attend Sidney Lowe's show.....hope that he does NOT relocate there. more

specials 9/14/2010

I love the specials you guys have added this September. So far I have tried the tuna salad and the Zuppe de Peche. Both were great. I love my sea food so hopefully I will make it back to try the oysters. I think I have found my new lunch spot. My server had brown hair in a ponytail and she was very sweet and timely as well. Had her both times. more

game fun 8/14/2010

We went here to watch the fight and it was so much fun! A lot of people came out there for the fight and it set up a fun environment to watch the fight. We tried the ribs and those were messy but really good. Their onion rings are good too and I'm a picky onion ring eater. more

Food & Atmosphere 7/14/2010

Try the ribs!! I went to Backyard Bistro looking for something comfortable and reasonable on my wallet. It was exactly what i was looking for. In addition to the great food, i was able to watch the TVs they have many of in clear view. This restaurant is not going anywhere. Pros: amazing flavor more

WOW!! 6/14/2010

The ribs are amazing! I went here for an after work get together and ended up ordering the ribs. They were some of the best ribs Ive had in a while and at a great price. Definitely going back to try the other food on the menu Pros: good price, great location more

just ok 11/11/2009

nothing great, no better than BK. rude waiters more

So so food with terrible waiters 8/29/2009

I decided for my birthday I wanted to try something new. I had heard a lot about Backyard Bistro, so my wife and I decided to give it a try. We left pretty disappointed. Pros: Lots of big screen TVs, large portions Cons: Terrible wait staff, food was mediocre more

Awesome place, great food, good service 8/5/2009

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first because I was routinely disappointed by Damon's (the previous restaurant at this location). After my visit to Backyard Bistro last week, I can hardly wait to go back. A friend told me about the ribs, so I gave them a try. I've had the ribs at The Pit, The Q Shack, and several other of the top local BBQ joints. None of these places can touch the Backyard Bistro. I got the ribs and few beers....the tab was reasonable. There are huge TV's everywhere, the staff was friendly and, best of all, the place is directly across from the RBC Center. Everyone cheers and yells when a local team is playing. Its really a great experience and I would receommend it to anyone. Pros: High quality food, reasonable prices, lots of TV's more

Great atmosphere and staff - food too 8/4/2009

I like Backyard Bistro because it is just that - feels as comfy as home cook out - but the food is great and staff is awesome. I had a great time - did not spend a fortune and so enjoyed my meal. Cant wait to eat here before every show and Canes game. Why battle traffic when I can get here early enought to have a couple of drinks, good meal and fun too! Pros: Love the atmosphere fun more

AWESOME RIBS!!! 8/3/2009

Been here several times since they opened in April, and they are constantly improving with new menu items -- seems like everytime I go in, there is something new to tempt my palate. The Ribs are Hands Down the Best in Raleigh -- meaty and juicy with just enough smoke flavor. Service staff is freindly and outgoing and even remember my name! Pros: Menu that is not just Barfood Cons: Too many good things to choose from more

Cool Building, Terrible Food 7/23/2009

For this place to be labeled a ""bistro"" is a sin. Waitress was nice, busboy was creepy. Whatever you do, don't order the beef brisket, it looked like it had been shoveled out of a trough and put on my plate, it was COVERED in generic BBQ sauce to the point that i felt like i was drinking a glass of BBQ sauce. While on the other hand the wings were as dry as the napkin. Maybe a good place to watch sports, but definitely not the place to please your palate. Pros: Nice big bar, flashy staff uniforms Cons: Would rather stay home for a bologna sandwich more
