Worst dining experience of my life 7/18/2010

Went there for lunch this afternoon with my dad, his gf & my sister. First, there is a urine odor in the dining room, which is also dark & the decor is benign & outdated. Second, the service is worse than terrible. We were waited on by the manager, who also happens to be the owner's daughter. Everyone else in my party ordered pasta dishes, while I ordered a mini pizza. She brought their meals & told me mine would be out in a minute. 20 minutes later, everyone else is done eating and I STILL hadn't received my meal. We had to hunt her down to inquire, and she stated it would be out in ""a minute"". She finally brings it & I tell her to wrap it to go since everyone else had finished eating. She said ok, all the while never even apologizing for the ridiculous wait. My dad requests an adjustment on the bill & she refuses. She stated that there were a lot of pizzas in the oven & she couldn't control that. Meanwhile, the restaurant was empty except for 1 other table. We stated that we would never be back and she said ""that's fine"". Additionally, isn't it hospitality mgmt 101 to coordinate dishes to come out at the same time??\r Seriously, unless the owner is planning on closing down or selling in the very near future, having this woman at the front of the house is the biggest mistake he could ever make. She is amateurish, obnoxious & clueless about the nuances of customer service/focus. In my line of work, if people thought about me the way I think about her, I'd probably kill myself. \r To top it all off, the food is mediocre at best. I've had better pizza at my local pizza parlor for $3 and a 2 minute wait. \r GO ELSEWHERE!! Cons: Everything more

Real Italian Food 11/26/2006

There are hundreds of mediocre Italian restaurants out there...Baby Moon is, and always has been the best of them. The owner is always around greeting people, the food is fantastic - my favorite is the Sicilian Salad - and every time I go, I'm amazed at how consistent they are with making the tastiest and freshest AUTHENTIC Italian food around. My family has been going there for over 30 years, back when it was a tiny pizza place, and it is still just as delicious as it was then. I always like to try new places, but Baby Moon is my favorite and is the most reliable of them. I love the fact that it's open year round and that it's family owned and operated. I guess there's a reason why other restaurants come and go, but baby Moon is always there. Pros: Reliable, fresh food. Open year round. Innovative dishes. Fresh seafood available. Cons: Can be loud in the peak of summer season. Might have to wait for a table. more

Best food in NY! 11/15/2006

Best Pizza, salads, seafood and pasta 11/9/2006

My kids absolutely love this place. The service is always wonderful. If you ask the server they will give you pizza dough for the kids to play and make their own pizza. Last time we went on a Friday and the place was packed. Over the summer we saw Adam Sander having diner with his family. We had allot of fun. If you go with kids I recommend you to sit in the bigger dinning room since the front room is more for adults. We had the gorgonzola salad to start and was huge and the best I?ve ever had. The seafood platter was really good too. They make a pizza called the ?Grandma? which is not on the menu you have to ask for it?is delicious! The owner is always around making sure you are having a good experience. They are authentic Italians from Sicily so you find specialty pastas that you don?t see anywhere else. Pros: portions are generous and food is always fresh. The owner is really nice. Cons: Busy place on a Friday night, is the town's hung out more

not the best experience with Italian food 7/10/2006

went there to garb some homey italian-american food veal parm, you know.not great our pasta had been cooked and recooked like 8 times.bad bread.watery tomato sauce, nothing was cooked fresh.this kind of food is so easy to do it doesnt make sense that they should cut so many corners. Pros: big portions Cons: poor quality food more

Not all its hyped up to be. 6/25/2006

I was dissapointed. It was a bit expensive and not as great as I had hoped. The famous ""wood oven"" was not available on a Monday at 5:30pm and although the server was nice she was not around enough and we had to always ask for pepper, cheese, oregano, and garlic. You know, the normal pizza condiments that should be available when you are dining out and getting waited on in restaurant. Probably won't be going back. Pros: extended hours, large menu Cons: expensive, so so service, food was average more

The best seafood, salads, pastas and pizzas 2/24/2005

They have the best seafood ever. The calamari is always fresh and tender. Their portions are generous enough for two. The Gorgonzola Salad is the best, along with many pasta dishes that I haven't seen in most Italian restaurants. There is a wood burning oven, where they make pizza and many other dishes. THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT. I can eat there every day of the week and pick something different and good every time. The services is good and the place is always packed on the weekends....always fun. Pros: Prices from $7 to $25, Portions for two, Hamptonians Scene more
