Babies R US

I wish I had not registered at this store. Not only are they not helpful at this location, only some of the items I scanned at the store were added to my registry. It wasn't because I didn't know how to use the scanner either since I am very technically savvy. Once I got home and looked at the items I picked, I shopped on the Internet and noticed all of the items at Babies R Us can be found 20% cheaper on Amazon. I only went to Babies R Us because I thought it would be more convenient for many people who aren't comfortable shopping online to go to the store and make a purchase. Well, in hindsight, I wish I had just saved everyone a little money and encouraged the online shopping. Babies R Us has a rewards program but it doesn't justify the higher prices when you consider that you can save an average of 20% online and get free shipping on almost everything. You also get a better selection online and you don't have to worry about the item being out of stock, which was also a problem with this store. Every item that someone bought for me and had shipped to me, had to be returned because the item was damaged in shipping or the wrong item had been pulled to ship. The crib I got as a a gift had to be returned 3 times before I gave up and told them to just credit the person back. I asked them how many times a person had to return something to the store before they got the right item or an undamaged item, the guy at their main office told me it was an average of 3 times before the shipment was undamaged. 3 TIMES!!!! When I called the local store about the crib, they told me to bring it back to the store. Hello? I am 9 months pregnant and I would need a freight truck to take it back!! I ended up getting the crib from another vendor online for $100.00 less! When that other vendor shipped the exact crib to me, it was crated so well, you would have had a very hard time damaging the box so it arrived in great condition. If you must register at a store that is local, try Buy, Buy Baby in Mason. It is worth the drive and people can buy stuff for you online there as well. Their prices are the same as the ones you find on the Internet too! In addition, they have a WAY better selection of items. more

Babies R Us is fun to shop out but buyer beware...check your items before you buy. I bought a breastpump and not only had it been opened but most of the items that were supposed to be in the box were missing! I got home and was so frustrated especially after my mother had just had problems writing a check there. The girl at the register had been very rude to her and made her use her own cell phone to call and do a managerial task of checking the credit information. Luckily when I called back a guy remembered how much trouble I had only the day before and offered to exchange the item with no receipt. His name is Terry. This guy deserves a raise and a promotion! I purchased a Surfboard Tummy Mat for my grandson. Little did I know that I was buying used merchandise. The Surfboard Tummy Mat contains a reservoir that contains water that you add. The reservoir was filled with mold and the fabric was dirty and the play toys were lying lose in the box. I called Babies R' Us and the reply from the store manager was, ""Well, did you look at the item before you left the store?"" I didn't think it would be necessary to open the packaging when buying from a retail store. I would thoroughly inspect the item when buying at a garage sale or a consignment shop. I'm very embarrassed that I passed this gift off to my son and daughter-in-law as new when in fact, it was used merchandise. Who wants their new born baby lying on a mat filled with mold and used by another child? Buyer Beware..... Babies R' Us sells consignment quality at retail prices.
