Babe's Mediterranean Bistro

Babe's is a great addition to the dining choices in the outer Cape. It's friendly and unpretentious, and the food is carefully and and imaginatively prepared. The cooking is Turkish/North African in its origins, but the chef has clearly put his own mark on the dishes. My group shared some appetizers and meze--we liked it all but fought over the last dips of muhammara (a somewhat spicy dip of ground nuts, red peppers flavored with pomegranate molasses) and hummous. The meatballs were also outstanding. Main courses were tasty and substantial--we had several kinds of kebabs (lamb, chicken, tuna); all were very good but maybe the chicken was the most striking. The tagines (vegetable and chicken with preserved lemons) were well-done, with very flavorful couscous. Pros: Great food; easy to park; friendly reception and service more

Hey I just read all of Juliolugo666's reviews from North Truro, what gives, fella? Do you work at Babe's? A little payola? Anyway, The NEW version of BABE'S is delicious, I agree. But, please spare us the bulls--t of all the cradle of civilation rap. BABE'S has some real promise and is quite good. I look forward to the second season and seeing how the menu evolves. Let's see how it changes or doesn't. more
