Good: Their initial enthusiasm for my project, which they said would be wonderful for their portfolio as they didn't have a site like it under their belt yet. Their costs were perhaps half of others, though they explained they worked differently than other companies - they only hired when needed, rather than paid full time employees. Suggested any of their other lengthy projects to complete were due to client info. delays n such and I had so much detail (a 35+ pg doc. of requirements) we'd be great on time.. Bad: Please see my story below in comments. However the above didn't pan out (the very reasons I hired) - Communications trailed off quickly after they were paid. Later (months overdue on delivery) they would say they underbid and I should've appreciated the wait, no matter how long it took (contrary to their explanation initially). And delays, which were many, would take us well over 7 months past the contractual due date, did not stem from me, but them, from early on.. Improvements: Turn down what they can't do. Refrain from insults & take responsibility for projects accept. W/o apology, they much later said they were overbooked, or never understood. etc. (but didn't turn down, either).. Were flippant with the details, my business, and would say that I should be happy no matter when I got it delivered, & that I wouldn't have been making money yet anyway. They cost me so much. More than what I paid them - over $11k. Time, many other setup expenses, as well as emotional loss.. But they were paid $500 just to review & make sure could do it. I'd submitted 35+pg.of reqs. They delayed start. Design & programming delays often. Asked about common features such as sign in 6 ms. into (w/contract 3 mo. deadline passed. Design changed down road they even used a logo character I couldn't legally use (the orig. artist was going to charge me $2k!.
