Great low-key dining place 12/12/2002

This is a great place to grab a burger and beer. The wait staff is always helpful in suggesting beers, and they usually have seasonal ones that are worth trying. I've never had a bad meal here, but it's not fancy dining. A great place to kickback with a few friends and have a meal and a drink. Pros: Amazing beer list, Great waitstaff Cons: "plebian" food more

Variety is the spice of life 11/15/2002

Create a ""steam burger"" masterpiece here with tons of toppings (try the boursin cheese) and top-notch curly fries. The number of burger accoutrements is exceeded only by the number of beers available. Beware, though; it's insanely crowded on weekends, not especially easy to get to via public transportation, and parking is sparse. The service has been spotty the last few times I've gone. more

Amazing beer list 11/12/2002

Our waiter was very helpful in suggesting which brews we should try. And the beer menu changes every 2 weeks, so there's always a reason to come back! A must for those in search of hard-to-find or unusual beers. more

A humungous variety of beer in bottles and on tap and the beer on tap is always fresh. The food is amazing. The chef always has creative twist on classics that are fun and very tasty. Beer only please 8/9/2002

For beer, this is the place...impossible to not find one you like! But don't go so far as to eat here...unless you've tasted so many fine brews that your tastebuds are out for the count. I admit myself, I like the food when I've downed two or three, but on a sober night you'll realize the food is mostly doused in oil and hastily prepared. The service industry has seen better days too! I think the owner should slow down on the expansions of his business and pay more attention to what's going on inside! This place has more beers on tap than most places can shake a stick at. The food is good, but the attraction has to be the taps. They have well over a hundred. Great food, ok service 7/20/2002

If you're into variety, then this is the place for you. It has a huge food AND drink menu. On the other hand, if you have a hard time making up your mind, you may find it hard to order...The food here is great and it's in a great location (if you're into the Allston/Brighton college scene). Also, the prices aren't bad either. The only thing is that the service is not great and it gets pretty crowded and noisy on weekend nights (like almost all restaurants). Steak Tips Galore 6/17/2002

If you are looking for a place for Lunch, this is it. Awesome Steak Tips for $5.95 (Mon-Fri), so much that you can hardly finish them actually. And if you go for lunch it is quiet enough for you to honestly look over the 150 beers that are on tap and pick one out that you think you will enjoy(not to mention 300 other selections by the bottle). If you go to eat there at night, do it downstairs, the upstairs pub gets too crowded to enjoy your meal. Pros: Beer Selection more

THE best beer selection 6/12/2002

If you're looking for beer of all types and from every place, look no further. They serve a great selection of beer and amazingly enough at appropriate temperatures! You won't find any bitter's in a frosty mug here! Unfortunately they've become far less adventurous in their tap selection over the years, but the Sunset still ranks up there with 110+ taps, 300+ bottles and great bar food. Best beer selection in town! 5/31/2002

Who cares about students. . . honestly, this place is the best in Boston when it comes to variety in beer selection. Let the students drink and be merry, it won't change my ability to have a good time at this loud and exciting pub. Good food suggestion is the Buffalo Cheese Burger.
