Avondale Service and Parts was recommended to me. I've had my car in there several times over the last 5 years. I always took my car to Rich. When I called the shop recently to speak to Rich, imagine my surprise when I found out Rich was no longer there! No explanation, other than he was no longer there. Rich was the best! Sorry, Avondale Service and Parts, but you've lost this customer. I plan to share this news with people I know who also used used them. more

I may be biased because I have worked here for over 26 years. There's a reason for that. I love to work in a shop that is family owned so there is no corporate pressure to SELL SELL SELL! Almost half my life in a place that I can be honest and helpful to customers in need of our services without the fear of repercussions from a bean counter. My goal is to repair or maintain your vehicle to the best of my ability so that you feel safe on the road and advise you as to any future issues that may arise. And sleep well at night... more

I have been told that it's not a good idea to be too specific when consulting a repair person. Since I was planning a trip up north in my 1999 van, I needed to be sure there wouldn't be any surprises on the way and told the mechanic just that. Upon inspection, he recommended what I had suspected was needed - a complete brake job front and rear. The "service reminder" on the van had indicated additional maintenance was needed and he took care of that to my satisfaction. Rich is an expert at diagnosing mechanical problems and an excellent mechanic. more

i only take my refurbised 1971 olds to this shop because i know when they finish any repairs its repaired right and within estimated cost.the staff is helpful and professional more

Excellent auto repair facility 11/12/2010

I recently had problems overheating on my 95 Chevy S-10. I took it to the shop and Tom explained exactly what needed to be done and how much it cost and the estimate came out a few dollars less than I expected. All the staff was professional and polite and I would not hesitate to return for other repairs and recommend anyone who needs repairs to have their repairs done at Avondale Service and Parts. more

Rip off auto repair shop 11/3/2010

I do not & will never recommend this place. I took my vehicle to replace or braze my radiator & needed a new power steering hose installed. They were gonna charge me $850.00 for both. I called back & told them I couldnt afford both so how much would it be for just the power steering hose & they told me $450.00. That is insane so I told them I would be picking up my car, they charged me $44.00 to get my keys. I took my car to another repair shop & it only cost $375.00 for both repairs...thats more then half less. THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!! more

Love at first visit... 3/22/2010

I've always had a hard time with repair shops as I've been taken advantage of in the past. I have learned my lesson and took the initiative to learn more about cars. I'm much more cautious about the way I approach any car repair shop and am sensitive to the way I'm treated by the staff. Some shops see a woman walk in the door and their eyes light up with dollar signs. Not this place. They were friendly, courteous, honest, straightforward, timely, and very fair-priced. They fixed my problem without trying to convince me to buy other services that I didn't need, they treated me like a real person, and my bill was actually less than what I was quoted! Even after one visit, I know this is the shop for me from now on. more

Avondale Service & Parts is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 9/14/2009

I had a 2002 Honda serviced for AC that wasn't working and had been looked at by other shops who said their was nothing they could do. Andy and Tom worked on it and it is now working better than new, great job. Best of all they gave me estimates before doing the work and didn't over charge or nickel dime me with extra service or parts that weren't needed. California Jim, new migrant! more

Avondale Service is Outstanding 7/2/2009

This repair shop came highly recommended from a good friend. I first went to them with an AC problem on my Suburban. Just as I suspected it was the compressor. They installed a new one and also did a tune-up with plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. The price was $500 less than I was quoted at the dealership. Since then Avondale service has worked on all my vehicles. Their work and staff of mechanics are excellent. The work is done in a timely manner. Their prices are reasonable and they stand behind their work. They don't try to oversell you and will honestly tell you what is wrong and what needs to be repaired. I highly recommend Andy and the team at Avondale service. more

Faithful Customer since 1981 5/4/2008

I've been going to Avondale Service Center for all my repair, maintenance and parts needs since 1981 when I bought my first car and Lowell and Onie Riefkohl ran the garage and office. The familiy has been well represented since Lowell retired in the mid-1990's by their son-in-law Andy. The value of their service, honest assessments and reasonable prices will keep me coming back until I can't drive anymore! I would recommend them to anyone. more

Peace of Mind 11/6/2007

I took my Mazda to them to get the gas gauge fixed and they did a great job. I like the fact that they are honest and sometimes "frugal" with their assessments. You don't have to worry about them "padding" the bill and doing unnecessary work. more

Best car repair shop in Avondale 1/23/2007

The shop has fair prices, and have good experienced mechanics . They are very honest and do great work. Depending on what you need to have done to your vehicle, the repairs are usually done in one day. They guarantee all of their work and their parts. You can trust them to tell you exactly what you need to do and what you can expect. I recommend Avondale Service and Parts to all my friends and family!!! Pros: Very friendly and understanding Cons: none more

Great repair place 4/30/2005

Went to this service center after a friend recomended it to me. The replaced my timing belt for much less then the dealer was going to charge. They saved all the old parts for me and also fixed a leak that developed after the repair. They are very professional and friendly. Also very honest. more
