Upon walking into Avesta, you notice it is fairly small, with a wall of booth seats so that one person at your table will be sitting on cushion, while the other would be sitting on a chair. I personally dislike this type of seating arrangement, as the person you want to speak to is somewhat far away, and when this place gets busy, it would be difficult to carry a conversation. My dining companion and I sat at a table, with higher chairs. We ordered brie, which was amazing. It was a honey and nut covered brie, served with apple slices. We also ordered the hummus, which was nice but not as much flavor as I like my hummus to have. For dinner, I ordered the Curry Chicken. It was wonderful. I have been trying to recreate it at home ever since. The chicken was obviously slow cooked, as it was a pulled chicken. There was a coconut curry sauce over it as well, which was excellent. Their wine list is eclectic and fairly priced. Total, I spent more than I normally would when dining with a friend, but the food is so different from the “run of the mill” spots, that it was worth it!
