MY EXPERIENCE AT AVENUES PET HOSPITAL STRETCHES 25 YEARS FOR CATS ,DOGS, AND BIRDS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS CURED ANY PROBLEMS WE HAVE HAD....AND HAVE ALWAYS ANSWERED ANY AND ALL QUEST...

Worst

I'd heard great things about Avenues so took my dog here. The vet I saw seemed nice enough, but I didn't get a sense that she really cared about what she was doing and then when I...

Awful place for your pet 1/15/2012

I have taken my cat to Avenues on three occasions, and have not been satisfied yet. Most recently, and the reason I am writing this review, she went in for a limp. Dr. Shari B. O'Neill, looked not very closely at her foot and prescribed $ Prednisone and wanted to schedule $$ a follow-up appt. About a week later we noticed she was bleeding on the same foot, so we brought her back to the vet $$$. This time without warning, she was seen by a brand new doctor, Dr. Shebel Hariharan, who was not even on the list of vets hanging in their own lobby (I should mention that Dr. O'Neill was in the office and working that day). This new doctor examines her foot and decides she needs to be sedated $$$$ to get a better look at her foot. She also told us she would trim her other toenails while she was sedated. Pros: null Cons: null more

Unfortunately, Dr. O'Neill decided to treat s more

If it wasn't for her and their convenient location, we'd be long gone. 8/12/2008

The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of their really, really great support staff person - the one from Oahu. She always takes time to care for my dog and give really good customer service, so much more than the doctors there. more

Just so-so 1/22/2007

I'd heard great things about Avenues so took my dog here. The vet I saw seemed nice enough, but I didn't get a sense that she really cared about what she was doing and then when I got the bill, I definitely felt like she was more concerned about making money. I realize that I should have asked more questions about the cost upfront but she certainly didn't share anything either or give me options. The front staff were just so-so too. I won't go back. more

good facility with uneven staffing 5/22/2006

I've found some of the individual vets here to be world-class; I've found others to be unpleasant and apparantly money-driven. The problem is that none of them are there every day of the week, so if you choose a vet, you may only be able to see them two or three days of the week. \r The non-professional staff and the technicians seem compentent and helpful. There are often waits, but that's normal for a busy veterinary practice. Pricing is fair. more

Mysterious change of behavior 5/18/2006

My dog had a mysterious change of behavior after going to Avenues for many years.\r \r Before, he was completely happy everytime we go there. Even after he's been altered, received 4 years of vaccine shots and many, many an injury.\r \r Why then was our last visit such a disaster? My dog had to get DRAGGED in to have his nails clipped. Usually, it was the other way around. My dog did the DRAGGING whenever he pulled on the leash as he usually couldn't wait to get in the office.\r \r Whatever happened, it couldn't have been very good for my dog. I'm sure if you're on my place, you wouldn't like the idea of your dog possibly getting hurt in some way? \r \r I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! PROS: CONS: I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! more

Very Good Pet Hospital 9/6/2005

This is agreat Pet Hospital. The staff are very kind and courteous and really take their time to explain everything to you in detail, no matter how insignificant your question may be. My dogs have always been very well treated and do not have any problems with being there, unlike other vets. more

Incredible Vet saves lives 5/15/2005

Scott Anderson is a saint. We had a dog that had multiple health problems. Most other vets had given up on her, but Scott stuck with it and gave our sweet dog (and us0 many more happy years. He is also a really nice man. more
