Avalon Pools

I would like to extent my deepest thanks to Avalon Pools for the beautiful pool that they built us. We searched all over Atlanta hoping to find the best pool builder and after much time and effort we ran across Avalon Pools. We found them to have an A+ rating with the BBB and rightfully so. They were easy to work with and did a fantastic design that out shined all others. Not to mention the after care that has taken place by Avalon Pools. Just wanted to say how Impressed I am with Avalon Pools!!! Not only have they made my backyard a place my family can kick back and relax. They have made a place for my family to build memories. I am so impressed with Kurt's design for my back yard. He is the most creative pool builder we met. Believe me, we have met with over thirteen builders and no one compares. more

I'm going to start off by saying that I am every builders/contractors nightmare. I owned a corporation in Southern California (Orange County) that built high dollar custom homes for over 35yrs until the economy took a fatal hit 2 yrs ago so when it comes to building materials and how things are done, I am very meticulous about detail. My wife and I decided to move to Atlanta where we could build for a fraction of the price but that also meant that we would be starting over and building a pool as I had done with most of my custom homes in Orange County. We called and met with half a dozen pool companies surrounding the Atlanta Area, aside from Avalon, and I was less than impressed. more

I understand that building a swimming pool is stressful, but, our experience with Avalon Pools of Holly Spring Ga. was a nightmare. Once the contract was signed and they had a few big payments in their pockets they could not have cared less about us. When we phoned to find out if anyone would be showing up as promised, we were yelled at and hung up on by owner Curt Cooper and supervisor Andy. Curts attitude is that once there is water in the pool ""it is done"". I guess that is why we never had pool school and they did not put salt in our pool or do the promised clean up of our property. We have filed a complaint with the BBB.The worst is that they never payed their stonemason who contacted us for payment, he did a beautiful job and we feel so bad for him. Since the build was so difficult we had Curt sign a release of lien. If you are in the Atlanta area do yourself a favor and have someone else build your pool. I have to add here that thanks to Mark Reardon of Endless Summer Pools our pool is great. He came in and saved the day. He has fixed several of our areas of concern and has been available to coach us thru new pool ownership. We only wish he had been our pool builder. Avoid Avalon! Under no circumstances should you use them. They seem like stand up people during the sales cycle, but once the project begins, Curt Cooper and company don?t care. I signed the contract and wrote the first check in February and as of late September, it is still essentially a hole in the ground. During the process, I have been told numerous lies and generally given the run-around. For such an expensive investment, I expected some level of professionalism but Avalon borders on fraudulent. I am now employing a lawyer in hopes of getting the pool completed. If you feel you must use Avalon, bring a lawyer. more
