Whenever we are near Bend, we always turn in for a bite and pint at the Deschutes Brewery. A typical brewpub, but with above average food and of course my favorite beers on tap. They have a large viewing area to see the vats of beer brewing. The atmosphere and service is friendly and family oriented. If the weather is nice, you can also take a walk through the quaint streets of downtown Bend to work off the beers you consume. more

This weekend I visited a long time Bend favorite called the Deschutes Brewery, or what the locals fondly call "The Brewery" for short. Sadly, it had been several months since I have visited this wonderful establishment, but my taste buds remembered this place as soon as I walked in the door. I have had the luxury of sampling many of the items on the menu, and you really can't go wrong when ordering the specials. However, my favorite is the brewery burger. This mouth watering burger comes with a generous order of "house fires" which are very large rounds of sliced/deep fried potatoes. They are so YUMMY! The burger is huge, juicy, and made with what seems to be an excellent grade of burger. If I ever have friends or family come to town, this is THE PLACE to take them. The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, and the service is wonderful. The servers always have a smile on their face. Try them out sometime...it will be money well spent. more

I love this brewpub in Bend. I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in town, and you should too. The food is very good, though the menu isn't large, and the beer is excellent. They brew Mirror Pond and a number of other beers on site. All of their creations, plus some others, are on tap. Pints are $4 or so and meals are around $12. There's always a seasonal creation, too. It gets pretty crowded but it's definitely worth the wait! more
