Having just recently moved to the Portland Metro area and re-entering the German car realm (I purchased a used 2000 BMW 328Ci) I asked around for service recommendations. Of course the two local dealers came up (both with good recommendations BTW), but not really what I was after for an older car (i.e., out of warranty etc.). I finally got the recommendation I was looking for from Beaverton Auto Upholstery (another GREAT repair shop) -- Autohaus Bayern.
I've now had the pleasure (yes, ""pleasure"" and I don't use that word often in reference to auto repair shops) of having work done at the Bayern; a couple of minor issues (most recently an intermittent signal light) and an annual service that ended up including a water pump replacement (along with the belts etc. since they had it apart and I'm close to the 100,000 service).
In all, yes ALL, visits I have been totally impressed by the courteous and professional service, the on-time repair (it was done either when they said it would be or sooner), and the prices. For example, when doing the water pump they didn't charge me double shop time for the belt replacements; i.e., shop time for the water pump and then again shop time for the belts. (I've had bad experiences with dealerc, NOT here in PDX but else where, where this double-dipping was done.)
So, what else can I say except that if you've a German car you really own to it and yourself to check out Autohaus Bayern!
Most sincerely,
Dr. David Rule
