My dad has taken our American Bulldog here for any checkups and necessary procedures. We also took two cats to get neutered and spayed.
So when one of our cats fell ill, we went to a place we knew, and at least thought we could rely on. Our cat had a blockage exiting his bladder, another place said exactly what this place said would need to be done, drain the bladder by inserting a tube. The procedure was done, and then they called for us to pick up our cat saying he would be fine in 2-3 days and we were given pain killers for him. When we arrived home, our cat did not want to move at all as if he could not move. We thought it was still the anesthesia and it would ware off. We kept a close watch on him and the next day he could not breathe. He was gasping for air, which is when we rushed to the closest vet. Unfortunately he didn't make it there. He had vomited urine. When we reached the vet he asked what had happened, and we informed him of th eprocedure that had been done, he then said how it was not done properly. Anytime the procedure is done, the tube inserted has to stay in for two nights to keep the bladder from clogging up again, and a third day is needed to exam and check all is well. The vet at San Jose Spay & Neuter did not inform us of any of this information at all! Then when returned to tell him what happened and see what went wrong, he says our cat ""probably"" already had something wrong with his liver and wouldn't have made it. I'm sorry but wasn't it his job as a vet who we took our beloved Dusty to check up and catch what is wrong and help make him better, when we took him at that point he should have informed us that something more serious might have been wrong and rather than do the procedure and completing it incorrectly, and instead of having put Dusty through hell, he should have told us and we could have put Dusty down in a better way. Now my family is left with only Dusty's sister who is now looking for him, with four sister's crying and trying to deal with the first loss of a pet, and a house wife who has lost like a baby. Dusty was only two years old as of last month, and I wish I had never thought of going to this clinic, if I would have known they weren't going to do the job correctly and show any concern for my cat!
