\r \r Unexpected service\r \r Jan 10, 2012\r \r stevem\r \r \r \r Put off for some time the necessary repairs to our 2000 Volvo S80. When we could go - literally - no further, and our local independent garage said the issue was beyond their capability/ability, I went to Google and searched for STL independent Volvo service companies, as I had no desire to pay the local dealership shop charges. Found Auto Evaluators. The only negative with my experience is that I wish I had found them before this. Tony was terrific, service completed as promised, on-time. And I feel we received a fair value on money side. Certainly want companies to make their fair share; just hate it when we, as consumers, are taken advantage of. NOT the case with Auto Evaluators. Top Notch in Every Way! 7/13/2011

I am so happy I discovered Auto Evaluators 13 years ago! At the time of my first purchase, I was 19 years old and thought I had really 'arrived in life' when I pulled out of their lot driving a navy blue 850 with over 100,000 miles. Since then, I have bought 4 more cars and have had all my cars serviced with Auto Eval. As a single woman, I am a bit apprehensive when it comes to cars and maintenance, but I have continuted to be amazed and overwhelmed with the integrity and honesty of Mark Dirsa. I have always been well taken care of by Mark, and have never worried about being ripped off. If you are considering purchasing a Volvo, or looking to have your Volvo serviced, you should not be going anywhere in St. Louis other than Auto Evaluators! Mark, Pat, Diane, and Shirley will take excellent care of you! more

Great service Saved me money 6/2/2011

The most honest shop I have ever used! tHey spent 2hours checking my car and advised Me the repair was covered under a recall. No Charge!! The dealer was going to charge me for the repair! Auto Evaluators is great good christian people! more

Extremely disappointed 3/16/2010

My check engine light came on, so i took it to auto evaluators. I was very disappointed when they charged me for 2 hours of labor ($98/hr) just to spend 1.5 hours updating the software on my volvo. As a first time customer, it felt like a HUGE rip off. more

beware, beware 12/11/2009

We took our car in when the ""Check Engine"" light came on, and because our car smelled of gas. We were happy to pay for the gas line repair, and even for the thermostat replacement we didn't know we needed (and still aren't sure about), but they also charged us $75 just to READ the computer code for the check engine light. Yes, that's 45 minutes ""labor"" to read the code. And no, they didn't ""diagnose"" why the code was triggered, just figured it had to do with the gas leak and reset it. I've tried to contact the owners about this ridiculous charge, but they don't return my email. Huh, go figure. My advice: you can get the same level of competence and much fairer pricing elsewhere. Pros: work on Subarus Cons: unnecessary charges more

Auto Evaluators is a great place to take a car. I have taken my vovle their a few times now and really enjoy the people working there. They are all very knowledgeable and help me with all my question. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. Pros: Quickest and most reliable service i have had in awhile. more

Great service, great effort, great people 10/31/2009

Dana and the people at Auto Evaluators have always steered us right on all our repairs, with great honesty and integrity. We got a bum steer from the dealer on what needed to be done and Auto Evaluators helped us sort out a big safety issue that was under warranty, which they didn't have to bother with. Always feel like the work is thoroughly explained to me, not like some places that talk down to a woman like you are a car moron! Highly recommended. Pros: Great service for our 2 volvos Cons: Close too early at night for worker bees! more

An honest, dedicated shop 10/31/2009

I have taken my Volvos to AutoEvaluators for 10+ years. I am a dedicated customer because they know their business. The mechanics get to the bottom of each issue. The shop is honest and fair. Pros: Know Volvos inside and out Cons: None that I can think of more

Satisfied customer for 10 Years 10/31/2009

Taking my Volvo to any place other than the dealership caused problems. No one else carries Volvo parts. My college friend recommended Auto Evaluators, and I've been going to them ever since. Mark, Paul, Diane, Pat and everyone are all knowledgeable and dependable. They've gone the extra mile for me numerous times so that I can get my car fixed as quickly as possible. Best independent Volvo/Subaru shop in town 10/30/2009

I have a multi-year and multi-car relationship with these clowns ... and by that, I mean that they not only take great care of my vehicles, but they keep me laughing and enjoying every visit to their shop. If you want to overpay, visit one of the local Dealerships; otherwise, make the trip to AutoEvaluators. Great Place to Bring Your Volvo 10/30/2009

I've been going to Auto Evaluators since I first purchased my Volvo two years ago. They offer great service and do not try to sell you on extra services you do not need. I once took my Volvo to a dealer (I was out of town and the check engine light came on) and they told me there was a problem with the car that would cost over $600. I promptly took my car to Auto Evaluators for a second opinion. They spent the time to go through the car and found there was nothing wrong with it. The people at Auto Evaluators are very honest and thanks to their expertise I did not end up spending an unneeded $600. After going somewhere else once and having a problem I will never take my car anywhere besides Auto Evaluators. more

Great Volvo Service 10/30/2009

I have been going to Auto Evaluators ever since I moved to STL 4 1/2 years ago. I have taken a total of 5 Volvos there and have been extremely pleased with my service experience every time. I travel appox. 23 miles one way to bring my cars there which should tell how much I value their work. If I cannot do the work myself then I trust them to do it. Conscientious, honest, knowledgable 10/30/2009

I've worked with the Dirsas for 15 years. Their mechanics do a good job, they keep good records, they're timely and are good-humored. I always get good service and if I have a complaint they call me and work it out - person to person. This is a good shop to be acquainted with - they are good people. Pros: Mark and Pat work very hard to satisfy all their clients. Cons: Car repair is a difficult business. more

Thorough Work 10/30/2009

I brought my subaru in for an inspection. My check engine light was on. They were very Thorough with figuring out the problem, researching, etc. On the negative side, some of the staff was rude and they did not call me to let me know if my car was finished. Excellent Service, Friendly Staff 10/30/2009

All of my interactions with the staff have been positive and very friendly. One even went out of his way to assist me after hours when he could have simply gone home. They explain all of their pricing up-front and never seem to try to sell you on services you don't need (rare for the mechanic industry). I've driven a Volvo my whole life and was thrilled to find such great service in St. Louis. Their work has always been excellent, and I will continue to use them as long as I live in St. Louis. more

Worked with AutoEvaluators for three or more years. They are prompt with their service work and willing to fix the problems as they occur. Purchased Volvo to them and sold a Volvo to them. Pros: Online Scheduling and Online Coupons Cons: Oil changes can be pricey more
