I was sold a piece of jewelry at wholesale price. When I had it appraised the next week found out I paid almost twice retail price. Took it back to get my money back and he wouldn't do it. He gave every excuse in the book. They are very dishonest!! My mistake for not doing my homework so I am just trying to help somebody else. I went in to see what they would offer for an assortment of jewelry - sterling silver, 14k gold, turquoise, etc. Not only did they take time to do a serious assessment, but they explained how they do pricing upfront. The owner himself came out to help, and he was very kind. \r \r Pleasant people, honest business & gave me a great price! \r \r Beware of other money for gold offers: most are a scam. Austin Pawn & Jewelry is both Fair & Friendly -- take it from a New Yorker! more

Best Priced Diamonds in Austin!!!!! 8/20/2010

I needed to help a friend find an engagement ring ASAP! He had a picture of one he liked from the internet but it was way out of his budget. We went from pawn shop to pawn shop looking for a similar used ?cheaper? ring. When I got to Austin Pawn and Jewelry the guys up front where super nice and very helpful. They sent me to the owner Mr. Sutherland in the back and he looked at the picture that we had of the ring and told me that he could have an exact copy of the ring made for half the cost of what I had been quoted before. I picked up the ring today ?less than 2 weeks after ordering it? and it is AMAZING!!!!!! MY friend is proposing tonight and I just know there is no way that she will say no with that ring in front of her. Thanks Mr. Sutherland for all your help I will be sending my husband your way. ^_^ more
