Best

I am finishing up a year of boot camp with AABC. The first few months of camp I gained and lost the same 10 lbs over and over. It was frustrating, but I felt like I was at least...

Worst

with a lower fitness level, it was challenging but after a while it became boring. the intensity did not increase. so after a while it was no longer a challenge

Awesome Program! 8/28/2006

At the beginning of May I had a dress fitting for my upcoming July wedding. During the fitting it became clear that my attempts to lose weight on my own were not very successful and I needed help rapidly! In a panic I searched online for a boot camp program in Austin and stumbled upon the Austin Adventure Boot Camp website. The next 4 week session was starting the following day at 5:15am. After much deliberation over whether or not I'd be able to get up at 4:45 every morning I signed up. It was the best decision I've ever made in regards to losing weight and getting healthier. It became my challenge to prove that I could make it every day. Getting up was difficult in the beginning, but once I was there I felt so good that I'd made it. At least I could look back after the wedding and say that I'd given my all to get in shape. My greatest personal achievement during the class was succeeding in running a mile without stopping (and doing pushups)! Karen is very motivating and entertaining and plans each morning differently so you don't get bored. Austin Adventure Boot Camp is very responsive to the feedback from attendees. I attended every session for six weeks....on the morning of my wedding I put on my dress and discovered it had actually become a little loose!!! What a change from when I started boot camp!! Now that the wedding is over I am back attending boot camp...I must admit that this time around I have slightly less motiviation to get up 5 days a week at 4:45am, but I'm still mananging 3 or 4 and still enjoying it! Who'd have ever thought I'd enjoy a boot camp!? Pros: Early mornings so there is no excuse not to go, Instructor Karen Cons: Getting up so early! more

Best Exercise program around!! 7/8/2006

Up until March, I struggled with how to incorporate exercise in to my very busy schedule. While I went to the gym here and there, I wasn't experiencing the change in my body or mind that I greatly needed. I knew of Austin Adventure Boot Camp and I knew Stephanie (camp owner) from her personal training days. While she'd say ""join us, you'll love it"" I still shied away thinking it [exercise] was something I could do on my own. WELL, I went to my first bootcamp in mid-March with a group of about 15 others (evening class). We were all at different levels, and I was by far the slowest and most out of shape (I had not realized how out of shape I was). But, Stephanie and the group were encouraging and I blended right in. It took me a few weeks to feel like I would not die -- but for some reason, I kept going. The variety of exercise (cardio and strength training) quickly started paying off. Soon, I switched to the 5:30am schedule (for work purposes) and am happy to say that morning bootcamp is what gets me going. It wasn't long before I was addicted!! I can feel it work! I can feel my energy level go up. I've learned how to fuel my body as opposed to eating just to eat. Mostly, I've learned that I can persevere and get stronger and be healthy. For someone not healthy most of her life, this is an amazing feeling to me. I'm 38 -- and my goal is to be in the best shape ever at 40. With what I'm learning and accomplishing in Bootcamp and with Stephanie's help, I know I'll be very proud when that time comes (although I'm already in the best shape I've ever been -- kind of scary actually). So, for those of you who think ""it's not for me"" -- it can be! The group of women are great (some like us that go time after time and new women as well all of the time), Stephanie is great and you will feel great. This is coming from a non-exerciser who had smoked for 20 years -- now, I can run a mile in 8:47. In March, I ran 10:38. My goal is under 8:00! I'll get there!! Pros: Location, Time of day, facilities more

The best time you can have working out! 7/7/2006

Addicting is the best way to describe boot camp with Stephanie! The workout is great! She keeps it interesting and challenging. I love that it is outdoors in the fresh air. It is a GREAT way to start the day. You can't beat gazing at the stars while doing crunches. I also love the comradery and entertaining conversations. The best part is that you get in shape while having fun! Pros: Great way to workout! more

best workout! 7/6/2006

I love Austin Adventure Boot Camp! Stephanie is a fantastic motivator (as are the other instructors)! The class is constantly changing so it's always a challenge...exactly what you hope for in a workout! Adjustments are made for all the different fitness levels. I love the way it's changed my body!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel better and accomplish more in my day when I workout at 530am and I'm not a morning person. really. Pros: working out outdoors...making new friends. Cons: getting up at 5am...but you get over that quickly more
