Aurora Veterinary Hospital

I've seen several vets and even vet technicians at the Aurora Vet Hospital, and they have all been very sweet, kind, and knowledgable. I was sad to move away and not have them as my vet anymore, and now I've moved back in the area, and am going back again with a new pet. Even their front desk staff is friendly. I've taken 1 dog and 2 cats there, and now I'll be taking my new dog there too. Thanks Aurora Vet Hospital! more

This place is as good a vet hospital as you are going to find. Dr. Newton is smart, relaxed with animals, and knows all kinds of current research stats from going to veterinary conventions and from reading. She really knows her stuff. The rooms are open and airy, not stuffy and cramped like so many others. The vet assistants are super nice and professional, and very sweet with my puppy and my young kids. The entire office is very clean, especially the back area where they weigh, give shots, etc. I have been to several vets with my cat (including The Family Pet...ugh!) trying to find a smart, pleasant staff and I have finally found a vet I will stick with for both my cat and dog. Had 3 dramatically bad diagnoses here with 2 different dogs. The first dog they suggested euthanizing because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. I followed their guidance unfortunately. My other dog contracted the same problem within months of the other dog being euthanized and they suggested the same ending. Fortunately I went to another vet and got the proper diagnosis and the dog was cured. I am saddened by their suggested euthanizing of my other dog who could have been healed as well.\r I don't think these vets are very 'current' with treatment options. Dr. Newton and the staff at the Aurora Veterinary Hospital gave my dog, Otis the most wonderful care. Normally skittish around new people, Otis was comfortable around everyone at the clinic. Quick to offer him treats(with my permission), he got through his shots and nail trim almost painlessly. Even staff members who weren't working directly with him gave him pets and love. I will never go to a different clinic! Pros: parking lot, separate dog/cat entrances, clean clinic, friendly staff Cons: can't come up with any! more

When you envision that ideal vet who possesses not only the medical skill and knowledge you demand for your pet(s) but who also has the personal touch and care you want for both you and your pet(s), then you're envisioning Dr. Bernstein.\r \r I don't think it would be possible for me to list enough praise to do him justice. Suffice it to say that my two elderly dogs have been patients of Dr. Bernstein for the past year and a half or so and I couldn't be any happier with the care and service we've received.\r \r For one of my dogs in particular, who just recently passed away, we had a challenging situation of diagnosing and treating what turned out to be multiple significant conditions along with a variety of secondary ailments caused by the primary conditions and the treatments of those conditions. Through the entire process, Dr. Bernstein never wavered in his level of medical care; willingness and patience to explain all details, options, costs and side effects; and his personal interest and care in all of our well-being.\r \r For as long as our family has pets, Dr. Bernstein will most certainly remain our vet. Dr. Lisa Newton is the best vet I have ever met. She is knowledgeable, honest, straight forward and down to earth. Will do what is necessary and what is best for your animal. My dog, a VERY dominant German Shep/ Tibetan mastiff mix absolutely LOVES her. He gets excited when we arrive at the hospital and sees her. Normally, he does not like people to touch him, unless he wants them to do so and in the past he had to be muzzled before we even got to the vet building. However, Lisa can do what ever she needs with him while he just stands there and takes it. He has full trust in her and can feel the love she has for animals. No matter what the reason for going there was, we both feel better after our visit with her. We know we got the truth and the best treatment available. Pros: Parking, seperate entrance for dogs and cats. Knowledgable, friendly, caring, endless love for animals, open Saturdays, sometimes same day appt. Cons: Not informing customers of possibility to pick up prescriptions for less $$ at regular pharmacy. more

Dr. Bernstein is my vet for both of my cats. He obviously cares for my cats and they really like him, too. He is easy to get into, has weekend hours, and is just an all around nice person. One of my cats recently developed kidney failure and Dr. Bernstein helped us understand our options and checked in with us almost daily for the first week to see how his patient was doing - what dedication! He staff are also polite and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone. Pros: great hours, great vets more

I would highly recommend people to take their loved pets here. The staff are professional but very nice. You can tell that the staff here are real animal lovers. It's easy to get an appointment, and sometimes they even have the same day available. Our little 3 month old Pug gets such wonderful care here!!!!! I had been going to my old vet for 20 years. They recently changed hands and a very young Dr. bought it out. I took my now 20 year old cat in with the sniffles and they diagnosised him with alleriges.... go home and not to worry. He got much worse. I wanted a second opinion....Dr. lisa said allergies would be the first thing to rule out in an older cat. Treating him with a bactial infection has totally turned him around. I have 5 animals....and look forward to bringing each of them there as needed. Staff and Dr. lisa were all great at answering question knowledgeably. Dr. Lisa seems to have an inquisitive, curious, anaylitical mind and seems very determinded to know why things happen as they do. Great sense of humor makes her easy to talk to. We took the newest member of our family, our Shar Pei / German Sheppard puppy Duke to Dr. Newton for his shots, and we had a WONDERFUL experience. She is kind, upbeat, and very funny, and she has the best bedside manner of any Veterinarian we have ever met. It is obvious she loves animals.\r \r Dr. Newton was very knowledgeable and adept at explaining every procedure that was being performed, and she patiently answered all of our questions. She does a great job of mixing levity with professionalism and caring attention. His shots were followed by several puppy dog treats and some hearty pets. The Aurora Clinic has a good staff of vets and most the time are very logical as to problem solving and this can save you money. Only once have they gone the shot gun approach to testing which cost me dearly when in hind sight it they could have been done it diffrently. I have been going there over ten years. Not the cheapest but very good people to deal with when your pet is sick. more

I have taken my pets there for 9 years and some of the vets have changed, but they are always courteous and polite.\r \r I recommend their care. The vets are fabulous. They listen and don't make you feel stupid for asking any questions. They never try to sell me any unecessary things. Pros: Parking, Honest, Caring more

I've been seeing Dr. Robertson for almost ten years with my two greyhounds. She is fabulous. She's thorough, kind, professional yet funny, and very compassionate. She really tries to give you a break whenever possible. I have total confidence in her. All the folks at Aurora Veterinary Hospital are wonderful. My dogs wag their tails when we pull into their parking lot! more

I am new to Seattle so I used citysearch to find a vet for my cat. The receptionist was very friendly when I called and I got an appointment quickly. Lisa clearly loves animals and has a good sense of humor. I highly recommend Lisa if you are a new pet owner or new to the city and looking for a vet! more

Lisa Newton combines a great sense of humor with compassion and a genuine interest in your pet. She really listens, is thorough in the examination, and she offers cutting edge advice for any problems you might have.
