Aurora Theatre

I saw "Chicago" here and fell in love with the place. The Aurora is located in the beautiful downtown Duluth next to Duluth high school. You could probably see any of the plays they are showing at any given time and not be disappointed, as they have the finest play actors around. Aurora Theatre offers very reasonable ticket prices as well as student discounts with I.D. The theatre is also close to Gwinnett mall and Old Town Norcross, and numerous dining establishments along Peachtree Ind. Blvd and Buford Highway. If you are looking to avoid the blockbuster or just have an impulse to see something a little eclectic, the Aurora Theatre is for you. more

Many have heard of this theatre, even though its locations are few. The famous venue also has a home in Duluth, Ga, atleast for now. Aurora theatre features live plays and entertainment, aimed mostly at the older audiences. I have volunteered to distributed tickets there before, and have been there a few times, and from my experience, it is a cute little theatre that is worth a visit on a day when there is nothing else to do. And this is coming from a person who is not into live performances, so it is saying a lot. The price is cheap, only 5 dollars a ticket, and the venue is small which makes for a nice intimate performace. In the past, plays have included favorites like Bye, Bye Birdie. The acting is decent and the plays are usually entertaining. This is cheap and classic entertainment at its best. Especially for someone just visiting Duluth, this place is a good way to spend an evening. Come here before this moves away (which it will in a few months or so). more

Aurora Theater is the gem of Duluth and Gwinnett County. They consistently put on shows that are great for the whole family, and offer the community a taste of the arts. If you want to do something different from the usual dinner and movie, take your date to see a show - I'm sure she would appreciate the change of scenery, both literally and figuratively. more
