Love The Four Seasons 9/21/2008

My husband Richard and I love to celebrate our anniversary and other special occasions at The Four Seasons, especially at Aujourd'hui. Everyting about it is sooo Ohh'La-La !! Two years ago, we tried The Bristol Lounge out with some friends of ours from New York (our soon-to-be in laws !) We loved it !!\r Excellent in every way. So perfect that we are now trying to persuade our daughter Alison-Leigh to plan her wedding there in 2010. However, the kids want to stay with New York, where our future son-in-law is now a \r surgeon. Well, we have plenty of time to keep pestering them to marry in beautiful Boston at the Four Seasons !! Time will tell. We love the hotel and all it has to offer:) We highly recommend to all !! more

Favorite place! 6/13/2008

The Bristol Lounge is one of my favorite restaurants of all time! It has a great atmosphere/ambiance and the food is great. I've had so many wonderful meals I couldn't even begin to name them. The restaurant is very relaxed..not pretentious and fun for people watching both inside and along the street. I've gone here with boyfriends, ex boyfriends, parents, friends, birthdays. All occasions applicable! Definitely recommend! Pros: great food and staff! more

The best brunch in the city. Lobster, crab, raw bar, sushi. Dim sum, beef, ham, chicken, lobster ravioli. Plus all the breakfast mainstays, salads and sides and a fantastic dessert table. all this and incredible service and wonderful view of the gardens. The 65.00 price tag is well worth it Pros: Service, ambience, food quality more

Best Chocolate Souffle In The World! 2/20/2008

This was my 2nd time dining at this restaurant. I had recently proposed and the maitre d made sure we were sat at the large windows overlooking the Common. Everyone congratulated us and was served complimentary champagne as we sat. The decor really is very elegant. The restaurant has done a fine job of coming across as being classy and luxurious without being stuffy. \r The food was exceptional. High points to mention are the lobster bisque, beef loin and a great wine list. The highlight of the dinner was the Chocolate Souffle. It was simply to die for. If you do one thing in your life before you die, you must try this! I have never tasted anything better. The staff was polite, courteous and made sure we had the best possible experience. I highly recommend dining here.\r Pros: Chocolate Souffle, Wine List, Ambience and Attention to Detail more

Best of Boston, Hands Down 11/21/2007

This place is the best place for special occasion dining. My graduation dinner was here, and it was one of the most perfect experiences. We had to be moved to a sectioned off private room not part of the hotel, but the entire affair was catered by the restaurant (obviously). We had three bottles of complimentary champagne, a cheese and fruit tray, and five passed around hors d'ourves. Unbelieveable, all unpaid for. The room was better than anything in the restaurant, the view was spectacular, the windows were huge, there were comfy chairs and sofas, and it was all just beautiful. The food is impeccable. I picked the place because it was the highest rated restaurant in the city. Every reason for that. 11 people all loved their meal, and dessert. I really could go on all day. This place is decadent, spectacular, and makes me want to marry a rich man so I ccould eat there all the time. Go! Don't think, just go! You will love it. Pros: I am in love with this restaurant. Cons: Pricey. No doubt. But just go. You only live once. more

Excellent food, impeccable service 3/12/2007

We went to Aujord 'hui for our fifth wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time there. The service was perfect. I would rate the food only 9 out of 10 (we have eaten better french food elsewhere) but the service more than makes up for it. \r \r Do bear in mind that this is a formal place so if you are looking for some place more casual or laid-back, I would recommend going elsewhere. Pros: Perfect service, Great ambience, Excellent food Cons: Formal, pricey (what else would you expect from the Four Seasons?) although they do have a sub $ 50 wine list more

The perfect restaurant 12/17/2006

This is an amazing restaurant, with very special service. My family has gone to Aujourd'hui for special occasions for over 15 years. If you have something special to celebrate, I highly recommend it. And definitely order a souffle for dessert - just remember to order it with your meal! Enjoy! Pros: Amazing service, great food more

The best place to celebrate an important occasion. 11/16/2006

The first time I visited Aujord'hui was to celebrate my anniversary. It was the most elegant dining experience ever! The walk up to the dining room on the grand staircase and past the elegant piano set the mood for the evening. The waitstaff was attentive and discreet at the same time. We felt like we were the only couple in the room. The view of the commons at night was special and the food was superb! The presentation was gorgeous and every bite was delicious. We tried the tasting menu that was outlined by the chef that night and the wine pairings were exceptional. Definitely a first-class experience. I know it was pricey but well worth it! Pros: Ambience, Service Cons: Price more

Exceptional dining experience 10/28/2006

I was there w/my wife for our anniversary. The food was very tasty and unique in a good way. It fits a 5 star restaurant. However, it's not just the food that makes it a great restaurant. It's the overall experience. There service was above everyone - from there effortless accomodation for my flower delivery to the non-intruding but attentive and detailed wait staff to their kind receptionist/host and friendly all around staff. The ambiance is very romantic. There's plenty of spaces between tables unlike any other Boston restaurants. If you can get over the hefty check, this is definitely one place that's worth trying. Pros: Great dining experience Cons: expensive to eat on a regular basis more

Amazing experience 9/8/2006

I went there with my wife for our anniversary. Everything was absolutely perfect - great attentive service, wonderful food and great wine selection. Foie gras was absolutely perfect, best we've ever tried. Suffle (which needs to be ordered same time as the meal) was great. Atmosphere was very nice, and we were lucky to get a table next to the window, with the view on Boston Commons. \r \r Overall I would highly recommend this place for fine dining and special (romantic) events. Pros: Atmosphere, food, wine Cons: A bit pricey, but worth it more

INCREDIBLE 8/18/2006

We went here for our 25th Anniversary. We have eaten at many of the top restaurants in Boston, and across the country and this is the BEST!. Everything from the moment we walked in to the moment we left was perfect. The only thing negative was it was quite pricey, however worth every penny. I hardly ever write positive or negative accounts on anything, however I felt it my obligation to pass this on to anyone looking for that very special EVENT (meal). I would highly the lobster bisque for starters and the grand manier creme brulee for the ending. The entrees we had were fantastic. The wait staff was superb, they knew exactly when to offer service. \r And for those cynics out there I am not the owner or an employee nor friends or relatives of anyone associated with this established. I am one pleasantly pleased former and future patron. Pros: Food and service are impeccable more

Great food. Great service. Great environment/ambiance. Expensive. 8/4/2006

I am confused by several of the negative reviews. I have eaten at the Bristol Lounge over a dozen times. Sometimes with my wife, but most of the time with my wife and baby daughter. The staff and patrons are very accommodating. Most places this nice tend to be difficult places to bring children, but not the Bristol Lounge. The food is expensive, but you are paying a premium for great service and ambiance. Yes, there are places you can eat just as well for less, but you will not enjoy your meail as much as at the Bristol (especially if you have a young child - as I said, they are very accommodating). Pros: Great location and ambiance. Great food. Great service. Cons: Pricey. more

Superb in every way 7/4/2006

As other reviewers have mentioned, the experience of Aujourd'hui is top-notch. The food is the best around, from the amuse bouche, right on through to the dessert. We had an amazing appetizer: fois gras burger with truffle french fries -- out of this world. Our entrees were delectable as well. The staff is what truly stands out about the restaurant. In addition to the unpretentious friendliness of everyone we encountered, multiple staff members knew and used our names, and also knew that we were celebrating our 1st anniversary (they asked us when we made our reservation if we were celebrating an occasion), and ""congratulations"" abounded. We also had a great table next to the window overlooking the garden. Expensive, yes, but everything about the night was wonderful, and it was money well spent for our special occasion. Pros: food, service Cons: expensive (but worth it, really) more

Ten times better than I could have hoped 5/21/2006

When my wife told me were going to Aujourd'hui for our five-year anniversary (we rotate planning) I was mildly intrigued but in all honesty when the date arrived I felt like grabbing a pizza and a movie...but how grateful I am that I was the supportive husband! Aujourd'hui was the most fantastic dinning experiences I've ever had. The food was suburb (get the 6 course sampler). We dont drink, so I cant comment on the wine list. The food combinations and ingredients were brilliant, but the only thing better than the food was the service it was personal, unpretentious, and natural. As soon as we arrived they greeted us by name and ushered us right to our table. Knowing what I now know, I would take 3 hours at Aujourd'hui over a weekend in Provence. more

One of the best restaurant in the country 3/31/2006

You can really feel that every single detail has been taken care of. The food is sensational and the service absolute top class, as you would expect in their category. more

Disappointing 3/1/2006

I went for lunch because I heard the burgers were delicious. They were almost $18. and I ordered mine medium. The burger was served very rare and I had to send it back. It took a while for my 2nd burger to be served and it was pretty rare also. The other person I was dining with had to eat because we were already waiting almost an hour and his food was getting cold. I was disappointed. more

Amazing food and spectacular service 2/28/2006

Went to Aujourd'hui recently and had a phenomal experience. The tasting menu that I had was incredibly well executed and the wine pairing that went along with it were very well thought of. I hadn't been there in a few years and was very pleasantly surprised by their new renovation -- especially the new bar. I'm looking forward to returning soon. Pros: Decor, Food, Service Cons: Formal, Expensive, Parking more

Expensive 12/26/2005

I found Bristol a bit pricy for the amount of food and drink and the wait for the table could be improved by offering a place to sit and have a drink. more
