BAD Service 9/4/2009

My Audi failed emissions so I took it to Augusta & Paulina. They replaced the Oxygen Sensor and cleaned the Air Filter for $500. I paid, but the check engine light was still on after the repair so they told me to take it to Audi. more

Substance sprayed all over rear leather seats and rear driver side window. For the second time greasy fingerprints on the drivers door. Car reeks of oil and lubricant. Service is great. Good guys; straight forward speaking 10/14/2008

Although I am a white collar worker now, I use to be a mechanic, so I know how to speak 'mechanic-eze'. These guys are straight forward; speak non-techy easily, very reasonably priced and they're actually nice!! (And no, I am not related to these guys- LOL....) I know my car stuff and a lot of mechanics see the white shirt and tie and automatically assume, I'm just another white collar 'dufus'. Not them. definitely recommend these guys. Don't hesitate, just go to them. Pros: Speak straight English; good prices more

Great service, great price! A winner! 12/4/2007

Great service, reasonable prices. Took my car there because I thought I had a slow leak. They took it off, examined it, and couldn't find anything. The mechanic wasn't satisifed, so he kept looking and found that it was a bad valve stem. Replaced it at no extra charge. Even lubed my hood latch and it cost me 6.00! Can't beat the service or the price. I'll definitely take my car there again! (Hopefully it will be a long time before I need to, but when I do need to, that will be the place I go.) more

Don't go if you want prompt service. 5/1/2007

It pains me to write this because they seem honest, knowledgable and fairly-priced. What they are not is communicative or prompt. I have given them a lot of business, and every single time they have failed to call me back on time to let me know if they've even looked at my car. If you call ahead they'll tell you it will be looked at right away, but then it will sit for two days. By way of comparison, I have worked with other mechanics who will call you back within an hour or two. more

Hidden Treasure 9/6/2005

I have been taking my car(s) to Ruben for 15 years, and I will never go anywhere else. I started with them because I lived up the street and could push my car there if needed. And they always offered me a ride home! They have fast, reasonably-priced service, personalized, friendly customer relations, and they really take care of their regular customers in an old-fashioned, neighborly way which is hard to find in these times of depersonalized, mega-chain businesses. They are the best! I recently moved further away and upgraded my AAA membership so I could be towed there from up to 100 miles away. Pros: inexpensive, excellent service Cons: shop coffee weak more

WOW 9/2/2005

I took my Chrysler LeBaron to Augusta and Paulina and I couldn't get over how fast they fixed it. I brought it in and I asked the owner if it would be done by the following week, he said, ""we'll do it right now."" I was shocked, they really did do it that day and my car has been running fine ever since. I go back every 3,000 miles for my oil change. It is the cheapest oil change in the city, and they only use the top of the line castrol oil so you know your car will be running smoothly for the next three thousand miles. I highly recommend Augusta and Paulina to anyone in the chicagoland area. more

It was like a dream come true 7/20/2005

From the moment I arrived, I noticed that they have an excellent car expertise, they run all the processes with this hi-tech computers and they treated me like family. what else can I ask for? they detected the problem immediately and they offered me the best solutions. The service was extremely fast and they left the car in excellent conditions. ****the price was excellent ****the timing was perfect ****My car runs like a new one and I stop complaining anymore I totally recommend them . The service at Augusta and Paulina is wonderful! The mechanics and very efficient and the prices are fair. You do not feel cheated when you come here, if anything you are treated like family! I totally recommend this place because good repair shops are hard to find-this one is a gem! more
