Practice changed for the worse 6/27/2011

I had been a patient of Dr Newmans for 13 years. He was wonderful in the beginning especially with my pregnancy until I had an issue with minor pain last year. He scheduled a laparascopy to see if my left ovary was ok. When I awoke I discovered he had removed it with the fallopian tube! I have had nothing but excruciating pain from this surgery which is way worse than before when I went in to see him. And on top of that they didnt even prescribe an antibiotic for after surgery which resulted in a horrible infection for me. It seems surgery is his first answer now and not the health or fertility of his patients as I am under 40. He views hysterectemy as no big deal as he recommended this to me. Ovary and uterus removal is only recommended to take place if cancer, fibroids or something major is wrong. Beware when surgery is recommended. I learned the hard way! more

Dr. Newman 6/5/2011

Dr. Newman gave me life back. I had a laproscopic myomectomy. I have been his patient for about 13 years and he has always been an excellent doctor. I lost my health insurance for about three years and was told by other doctors I had no choice but to have a hysterectomy. I was devastated. I waited and my firoids grew to very large sizes. As soon as I was covered again I went to see Dr. Newman. No hysterectomy! Dr newman did a wonderful job with my surgery and preserved my fertility. My husband, family and me are so thankful. more

Dr. Newman 7/26/2010

I have been seeing Dr. Newman for over 17 years and wouldn's see anyone else. He is awesome and really cares about what you have to say. I have recommended him to friends and they call me after seeing him thanking me. He's the best! more

Dr Newman ROCKS!!!! 3/17/2010

Dr Newman has been my doctor for the past 17 years and has delivered my 3 girls. I trust him completely!!! When he offers me options in my treatment, I can ask "If this was your wife, what would you tell her?" and he gives me honest answers. He is caring and kind. When I had a miscarriage and he had to break the news to me, he also had tears in his eyes. There is not a better doctor around!!! more

Thank you Dr. Newan for giving me a new lease on life- more

Wouldn't go anywhere else 1/22/2010

Dr. Mammano and Dr. Newman literally saved my life with emergency surgery when I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy several years ago. They have since delivered one of our children and we're getting ready to deliver a 2nd in April. I LOVE this practice and have recommended it to several friends. Yes, the wait is sometimes long, but definitely worth it. more

Wonderful office and staff 11/6/2009

This is the best ob/gyn office I have ever been to. The staff is fabulous. The triage nurses are very quick at returning my calls. I hardly had to wait. Great experience. more

Not as good as they used to be 8/20/2009

The best doctors at the University location and Dr Boesel and Dr Overby. I've been going to this OB for 13 years. Someone posted a negative comment about Dr Boesel that I don't believe is true. He is one of their best Drs with over 30 years experience. A baby isn't overdue until after 42 weeks. Dr Boesel isn't going to push for a C-section unless it's absolutely necessary. It's a shame that women want to be induced these days and have forgotten about natural birth. I digress. The office has slacked off a bit. The receptionists and staff aren't like they used to be. Wait time is longer. I've had appts rescheduled and doctor's showing up late. I may consider going to a new office after I have this baby since it's a group practice and they have a lot of new faces. The only doctor I like is Dr Boesel and Dr Overby. I don't know much about any of those new doctors. more

disappointed 8/6/2009

Changed to Bradford Clinic after having to continually wait at GCWC, sometimes more than 2 hours to see the doctor who was always in surgery. Not surprising P.Snieder recommended unnecessary surgery! There are much better gyn/obs in Charlotte than this one. more

One Stop Show 4/28/2009

GCWC was wonderful - I went for my annual and whie I was there I discussed some problems I was having. The doctor took their time and had me follow up withsome testing and further appts. I was able to do all the appts at the same office and really appreciated the quickness and availabilty. It seemed to me that they MADE time for their patiends and I was very pleased with this. Everyone was very knowledgeable and eager to help in all aspects. more

Horrible Receptionist 3/9/2009

I'm fine with the Dr's and nurses but the receptionist Elizabeth is HORRIBLE! Before I didn't think much her attitude because it was for just a annual exams. But since I have to have regular check ups, I have to call more frequently. I dread having to speak to this receptionist. She has TERRIBLE attitude and VERY POOR customer services. Ex. I called and had set a appt with Amanda (she was very polite and professional). But then I had to reschedule and I got Elizabeth. She was very short and rude, but then when I called a day later to confirm my appt. She had not even put me on the schedule and then proceeded to cover her butt and make sure I got the next earliest appt. She makes me dread setting a appointment. Therefore, I think I will go else where to have my child. Elizabeth needs to be fired or strongly reprimanded and needs to take a course in simple customer service. The last thing I need to stress out about is calling my DR. to set up appointment and getting upset about it. So if you don't want to get stressed out by just setting up the phone call...I would look else where. more

Close down ths idiotic place! 2/19/2009

Good: Nothng. Bad: Starting from hours of waiting to the idiot doctor (Boesel)not even caring about overdue past 40 weeks big time. This idiot almost caused my 1st baby and me incredible hurt! I changed practice!. Improvements: Close down this idiotic place! Boesel is an idiot.. more

Great Doctors, Nice Offices! 9/21/2005

Greater Carolina Women’s Care is a nice place to go for an ob/gyn yearly appointment. Their offices are clean, the receptionists and nurses are helpful and friendly, and it’s very conveniently located near the university. My wait wasn’t long, the appointment was very nice, and the doctor took time to talk to me and answer any questions, also being very good at making me feel at ease during the exam. I’d recommend them, but I’ve only been once. more
