Very bad service - stay away! 7/22/2011

If I can give them negative rate, I would. Their service is the worst I've never had before in US. I got their service on 6/30/11. The guy names Juan is very rude. We told them carry as much stuff as possible if the truck has space. He said we told them not to move the rest of stuff even the truck had space. So it ended up much of our stuff still left in our old place and we had to move by ourselves. Things like refrigerator, big box that contains our Christmas tree and many of our suitcases are not moved. They drove away to lunch without telling us and drove to our new place directly after lunch. I thought they would come back to our old place to finish loading the rest of stuff. Juan lost temper when we asked them why he didn't load the stuff left in our old place. He used dirty words like F* and S* and yelled around in our new decent neighborhood. He said he had been working for 36 hours. He said he loaded a box to the truck and then we asked him to put down to our van and asked us if we wanted to treat him as a slave. Actually, it was a glass that we decided to carry by ourselves. I told him I treated him as a professional and I appreciate his service. But if his company kept him working for 36 hours and came to help us move, then he should understand who treated him as a slave. I know we didn't. He charged us $10 for each big wrap material and altogether he said they used 10 for us moving. I know we didn't use 10 big wrap, at most they used 5 wrap. Juan and the two other guys left without leaving the customer copy of receipt and didn't do the bulk bed and office desk reassembling. I had to call their company again. One of the managers agreed to come to fix the assembling the coming Sat, which should be 7/2, but nobody showed up. I called them again, I was told the manager was taking vacation. If he needs to take vacation, he should not promise me to come to help us assembling the furnature. So their owner Alan said he would come at 10am of 7/6 himself to help us. He didn't come either after 10am of 7/6. I had to call their office again, I was told Alan was heading to emergency room for collar bone problem. But he didn't make his professinals know until I called them why Alan didn't come. So finally they had two guys came to our new house in the afternoon to assemble our furnature. I told them they can come after 2pm, as I was in business call from 1 to 2pm. They showed up at 1:45pm and asked me how to assemble my bulk beds when I was in a conference call. I told them they had to wait after I'm done with my call. more

Excellent Movers! Michael's Moving 8/25/2010

Today we had the pleasure of being moved by Michael's Moving and Storage from Allston, MA. We moved from the western suburbs to Brookline. I was pleasantly surprised when the final bill was less than the original estimate and extremely reasonable at that! The four gentlemen arrived exactly on time in a torrential down pour. They carefully wrapped and and loaded all of our furniture and a piano and treadmill into the truck. Delivered it to our new home and were done in about three hours. All four guys were very careful and extremely courteous. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with the excellent service we received from them. I will hire them again and would recommend them to anyone who is in need of "good quality" movers. Thank you so much for making a stressful event go very smoothly. Great job guys! more

moving has never been this smooth! 4/21/2010

who really enjoys moving? I've moved a few times over the years using movers and doing it myself, each time being close to a disaster . I have to say, this past move was the best yet! I just recently moved from Boston to NY using Atom Moving...and WOW! I called a few local places in the brighton/allston area and I was not impressed, until i called Atom Moving. The sales rep. Sivan was comforting from ""hello""! She was happy to answer any questions or concerns I had, being very honest and straight foward. I felt like i was in good hands from start to finish. On the day of my move, the crew showed up right on time ready to work! They were very friendly and confident (which is important when your belongings are in their hands) The foreman Edgar was very respectful and helpful with any questions I had. It was such a smooth experience I still can't believe it! Thank you to everyone at Atom Moving! You guys and gals really know your stuff! Pros: professional, on time, friendly, knowledgeable more

Great Job and very professional movers 4/9/2010

I just hire Atom Moving to relocate my company within the Boston area. They provided me with an on site moving quote that includes all the services i needed, the moving plan and a flat rate. The move took two days as planed and the moving crew were great, fast and very professional. The move was supervised by a relocation consultant from Atom Moving, that save great amount of stress. I didn't have to be involved in the move process from the start to the completion of the move. I will be very happy to reccomend them to anyone I know. more

Great moving service! 4/6/2010

Wow...I am so surprise to read the past review on Atom Moving. I moved with Atom Moving the end of March. Nir came to my home and provided me with a binding estimate. The moving cost was reasonable and Nir provided me with a lot of information so i decided to book with them. The movers were amazing they were friendly and very helpful. They had to pack and unpack all of my boxes which made my move very easy and smooth. They charged me exactly what Nir quoted me on the estimate and i will be very happy to recommend them to everyone. more

HORRIBLE Moving Experience - STAY AWAY 3/25/2010

On day of the move, showed up with way too small truck, and then accused us of having more stuff in our house after giving us a ""binding estimate"" - even though we had moved a full truck load of our own stuff prior to the move but after Nir looked at our stuff and gave us the estimate. Told us that it would be extra $2k to get another truck and move the stuff. Well, I shouldn't say he told us, because he actually screamed at us over the phone. Pros: None (would give them 0/5 if I could) Cons: Scam Artists more

Experienced Moving company horror stories with Atom Moving 2/10/2010

I agree with HZR. Most likely if you are moving short distance, you may be ok, but my suggestion is that Do not use Atom Moving unless you want to experience horror stories. If I had an option to rate zero, I would have done that. I regretted it so much. They jack up the price more than $1000 (about 25% more than the BINDING estimate) on the day of the move. They threatened me saying that unless I agree to pay this additional price within 5 minutes, they will leave rest of the items and go. So I had no choice, but to agree to this unreasonable demand. It took them exactly ONE month to deliver my things. When they deliver my things, all the boxes came in such a bad shape, and much of my stuff was broken, damaged. But they wanted to pay the total of $60 for all the damages they did. I could go on and on about how bad their customer services/quality of their services/etc, but I just want to let you know unless you like to see how horrible moving companies could be; I don't recommend using Atom Moving. Cons: More than $1000 above their BINDING estimate. more

A $300 contract misunderstanding 6/20/2009

Maybe if you are moving just inside of the Boston area these guys are ok, which it seems from reading the other reviewed. However, I have a longer move from Mass to VA, and the movers were both late and ripping me off at every possible opportunity. - While the movers were not legally late in bringing my stuff to VA(they make you sign a contract saying that they can arrive with 20 days of the date specified) They didn't actually get my stuff to my new place until over a week after they had said. Even though I had made very it very clear when I needed them to arrive over a month in advance. When I called them on the day they were scheduled to be here(but not contractually obligated to be as Michael's kept pointing out)...they told me they were going to begin packing up my stuff some time in the next three days! Long story short- I had to sleep on the floor with no furniture for my first week of work. ... - Maybe Im old fashioned, but when you make very clear to someone when your furniture should arrive.... give them a month of advance warning... and they are still over a week late, I --flat out-- could care less what the contract says, Michael's is irresponsible. Oh.... and they ripped me off at every turn, plan on paying $200-300 more than you originally sign on for... no matter how closely you read the contract.... these guys are experts... Pros: Nice people Cons: nice because they knew they were ripping you off! more

100% THE BEST! 6/19/2009

I would just like to start off by saying that this is a great company to work with! I have used this company twice already over the years (once to move from Maine to a ridiculously hard place to maneuver in Boston, then again from Boston to Brighton) , and I have recommended them to family and friends numerous times. All of us have had great outcomes. I felt compelled to write a positive review after reading some of the negative feedback I came across because I feel as though there was some misconstrued information. First of all, when I called a sales rep, he discussed a lot of what I have seen on here as complaints...packing supplies are EXTRA and this was explained! I spoke with a very polite gentleman named Bryan, and he explicitly told me this at least 3 times. He even instructed me to have my things at least put in boxes because it would save ME money (nearly all companies charge for this, Mike's was the only company that was up front about it!). He also explained about deposits and refunds of money if canceled etc, as well as how they give you an ESTIMATE (as best they can, seeing how traffic does exist) of travel times/man power etc. I was also able to view all of this in an email confirmation that was sent to me right after I spoke with Bryan on the phone so that there would be NO surprises. What really made me trust this company was during my first move a piece of expensive furniture was found to be broken, and the movers were quick to point it out and assume responsibility and start the process of getting it repaired or paid for...fact of the matter, they had NOT even broken it - I had when I had previously tried to move the piece myself! They were quick, efficient, and they got the job done. All and all I would definitely recommended this company to everyone and anyone. Although they may not be the 100% cheapest, they are still INCREDIBLY reasonable, and I found that the cheaper companies were just low-balling to get my business and then would do a terrible job. In most cases I would say that you get what you pay for, but I definitely got better service than what I paid for with this company Pros: Everything they promised Cons: Other moving companies try to make them look bad! more

I've felt being cheated 6/14/2009

The movers came 5 minutes late. I didn't care until I got my bill. We packed up everything in boxes before they came. They were very slow wrapping/unwrapping our furniture. 6 pieces of furniture (2 simple dining tables, 1 futon, 1 bed, 1 sofa and 1 small desk) took 4 movers 2.5 hours to pack and unpack!! more

Saved the day 4/3/2009

My move with these guys went about as well as a move can go considering it was in a snow storm. I was going to move myself because I thought I would be saving a few bucks but went it came down to it, there was no way in the world I could do it in the snow. I called them on Sunday morning and they were at my place by noon. The sales rep was fair, didn't take advantage of me situation and gave me a reasonable quote. The guys moved my out of my place, into my new one and I had the rest of the afternoon to watch some football and unpack. No damages, no back ache and the best part is, it ended up being cheaper than if I were to pay my buddies with pizza and beer. I totally recommend Atom Moving and will use them again when I move this summer! Pros: honest, simple, reliable more

MY BEST MOVE EVER!! 2/3/2009

I have moved many times in my life. This past weekend I had Michael's movers come by pack me up and move me to Brookline. I had over 5 bedrooms and was completely unorganized. Bryan came by to see what I had and he spent nearly 2 hours with me. He gave me a quote, which was not the cheapest (and oh were they cheap) they were in the middle. After 3 long days I can amazingly say there was no damage to any of my furniture, I give them high praise for a job well done. Pros: Staff, Office Cons: None to mention. more

Awesome movers!!!!! 11/9/2008

I am very happy that i chose Michael's movers. You hear a lot of horror stories out there so i made sure to do my homework. Michael came to my house and gave me a proposal which included everything i needed. He was very good and patient with all of us. Then on moving day my team had arrived, and boy were they great!!! Pros: On time, No damage! Cons: None what so ever! more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! 10/27/2008

I have moved several times, and never have I had a more miserable experience. This company is terrible and will take advantage of you every step of the way. Pros: nothing Cons: Everything more

Amazing movers!!! 10/9/2008

We searched for a long time for a reputable mover. We did this internet thing and got inundated with phone calls and non stop e-mails. Then our friend had just moved with Michael's and told us we had to use them! Fortunately we did and were very impressed with the crew> They packed us a day earlier and movedd us the next, we could not have been happier!!Thank you again everyone at Michael's moving and storage. Pros: Fast, proffesional staff. Cons: none to mention more

Great Movers-Best Price-Fantastic Service 9/5/2008

I had a difficult situation of moving and storage at different locations so I used them twice within a few months. First Michael?s gave me an estimate which was significantly lower than any of the competitors I contacted. I dealt with customer rep named Tristan who was exceptionally courteous, attentive, and understanding of my situation. He responded immediately to any questions or concerns that I had. It wass a pleasure working with him since i had a lot of anxiety. Each time I moved, the crew was polite, efficient and worked very quickly so my actual cost was lower than the quote. Pros: Service and Price more

MITCHELL K RUDNICK 617 332-1920 7/24/2008

Our 7 rooms move of 6 miles with Michael's Moving & Storage WAS PERFECT! THEY WERE PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL, VERY ATTRACTIVE RATE, TIMELY, CAREFUL, CONSIDERATE, HELPFUL, AND THEIR PACKING (DAY BEFORE) OF FRAGILES AND BREAKABLE FURNITURE WAS WONDERFUL. NOT ONE THING DAMAGED OR BROKEN. WE GIVE THEM THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING, AND WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND THEM(MICHAEL CATTAN, OWNER) - MITCHELL K. RUDNICK 617 332-1920 more

Misleading Estimates and Given Run Around for Complaints 7/6/2008

Michael's Moving and Storage(Michaels Movers) is a giant rip off....They gave me an estimate for 700 and a bill for 1900....Movers worked extremely slowly, charged for blankets/pads...disassembled and reassembled small pieces of furniture to delay move as long as possible Cons: extremely inaccurate quote, complete run around for handling claim more
