Best

SO DELICIOUS!! GREAT SERVICE!! I wish I could eat here Every Day!!

Worst

If this is Atlanta's best for seafood, Burger King would make a good steak house! The food is substandard at best. It looks like seafood. It tastes like seafood. Yes, it's sea...

OMG 3/24/2005

For those of us looking for a resturant where fish is fresh this is it. The hong kong style presentation is exceptional. The chowder is very good and the bread pudding for desert is on of the best in town. Highly recommended to all. Pros: frendly service, large selection Cons: noisey more

Lay off AFM 3/18/2005

Please do not get your feelings hurt when they dpon't ahve violins and flowers waiting. A lot fo the reviewers on here seem shocked that AFM is noisy and busy and pricey. Well firts, keep in mind it is a seafood house. They never claim to be romantic or secluded. It is in one of the busiest parts of Atlanta. They get thousand sof visitors everyday and Lobster is expensive anywhere you go. The bottom line is you go here for great fresh seafood when you have some time to kill and can relax with people you enjoy talking to. Our service was great but don't cry if you have to wait 5 minutes on your drinks on a Friday night. There are places where you can get food very quickly. They are called drive-thru's. Pros: portions, lobster and salmon, service Cons: noisy, busy more

A long wait w/reservations 1/15/2005

We had 8:30 dinner reservations. We got there early and were not seated until 9:00. It was pretty noisy. The good was wonderful, but combined with the noise and long wait I would not go there again. Pros: good parking Cons: , too crowded more

disappointed 9/26/2004

It was a disappointing experience in Atlanta Fish Market. First we were seated in the corner right next to the waiter's station. More than once, the waiters knocked into the chair of our table. There was also long time waiting to order food and get the food. and the grill snapper was not fresh at all. I should mention that though we were facing 5-8 waiters all the time, it takes 10 mins to get the water glass refilled. I do recommend the whipped sweet potato, though. Pros: big portion, decor Cons: , service, price more

Not bad, but disappointing 4/13/2004

I have always heard rave reviews of this restaurant, but found it disappointing compared to the many other Buckhead Life Restaurants. Food and service were fair. Place reminded my party of somewhere like Friday's. Too bad because Atlanta sure is lacking in good seafood restaurants. more

Don't Waste Your Time 8/11/2003

Anyone who thinks the seafood is good here has limited experience eating ""decent"", much along good seafood. I found the food bland and have found better seafood at one of the more upscale chains around here. I also found it interesting that the chefs try to copy some of the ideas of some of the best places in New Orleans, try being the operative word here. Also, if you are going to call your gumbo ""New Orleans Gumbo"", I suggest you check with the locals ( I was one for five years), because in all the bowls I've had, capers was not an ingredient. Okra yes. Pros: Parking Cons: Cramped Seating more

Nothing but praise 6/28/2003

This was my first time visiting AFM and I was taken in by the whole experience. From the time we arrived to the time we left, I can honestly say that it was one of the best restaurants I've eaten in. While the environment is somewhat noisy, it didn't distract from my conversation or the experience. The wine selection was great and the food was even better. AFM is ranked high on my list as one of Atlanta's best. Reservations are recommended as this is a popular place. Pros: Food, Service more

WHO'S RUNNING THIS SINKING SHIP 5/4/2003

What has happened to this former gem of Buckhead? The food is still wonderful, but everything else has gone out the window. The servers are uninformed and very aloof. The service we received would be acceptable if you were in a Waffle House maybe, but not in a fine dining and expensive restaurant. It seemed that nobody cared about what they were doing; between the bratty hostess flirting with the manager to the b.o. of the food runners to the fake ""used car salesman"" manager (who seemed more interested in the young server nearby) and his blatent patronizing. This is not the marvel we once knew and I'll be hard pressed to return any time soon. Pros: CULINARY PERFECTION, FRESHNESS, QUALITY Cons: MANAGEMENT, SERVICE, LONG WAIT more

aeiger 3/10/2003

I went there several weeks ago got lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Having lived in New England for many years, I'd been looking for a fish restaurant that offered baked, broiled cod and some other simply done fish. Their raw bar was also very good, as I had 1/2 dozen clams which are not easy to get in Atlanta. The cod was fresh and done right. The price is not inexpensive but neither is Legal Sea Food in Boston. It's hard in Atlanta to get simply done fish and especially clams. I enjoyed it very much. Pros: Raw Bar, Selection of fish, method of preparation Cons: price, location more

Awesome!!! 1/31/2003

My husband and I have ate there several times and each time the food and presentation gets better and better! Definetly try the cheese grits! They are the best.. more

Definitely BEST seafood in town! 1/20/2003

Food was incredible ... the chowder was spicy, flavorful and full of clams. The cashew-crusted swordfish was fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed the imaginative sides that went along with the fish. My only complaints were the hour-long wait for a table and the watered down drinks we were served at the bar while we were waiting!! Not only do they NOT know how to make a good Cosmopolitan ... they only filled the glass half full. more

Simply Fantastic 1/2/2003

We were in Atlanta through the New Years Holidays and found the Atlanta Fish Market open on New Years Day..Decided to try it and WOW...the food the atmosphere the service were all beyond compare to anywhere else I had ever eaten.. more

It's a Fish Market 1/1/2003

Service wasn't all that good. I was seated next to the waiter station and overheard a few waiters complaining about a tip. If the service would have been a little faster I'm sure the tip would have been a little bigger. It such a big spot they should have had more waiters. Other then that the food is the bomb (EXCELLENT!!!!!) Pros: Location, Good Parking, Reasonalble Prices Cons: Location, young wait staff more

Absolutely Delicious 12/19/2002

I went to the Atlanta Fish Market for my birthday the first year I lived here in Georgia. I was mesmorized by the crab legs and the meat that came out of them was just as great. It was fine dining and by far the best seafood I have had since moving to the south. The services was excellent. The wine list was tempting. All in all, I insist that everyone I know that enjoys seafood dine here at least once. more

Not so good 12/10/2002

First, the restaurant has great appetizers. But, we found the service to be less than good, and the entrees to be mediocre at best. I've had better seafood (and service) at Red Lobster - seriously. Pros: good appetizers Cons: expensive, bad service, mediocre entrees more

Fresh fish, busy yet fun environment! 11/8/2002

I've always gotten good service, and recommend the Chilean sea bass Hong Kong style. Don't go here if you're looking for a quiet place, it's more of a loud/busy environment. Great bar area but gets crowded. Pros: Daily menu, Extensive wine list, Lots of wait staff Cons: Busy, Loud more

Bad experience at Atlanta Fish Market 10/23/2002

The AFM's food is not worth the trip. It appears that the entire staff is either totally untrained and without confidence or just uncaring. Service has to be the worst in town. The food is very average and doesn't warrant the price. Everything is extra. Atmosphere is horrible. Please!, for these prices, give the clients some room, and get a decorator. Spread out the tables. No one cares about the next table's conversations. I don't know how you keep this place open. Pros: fish is tasty, small Cons: noisy, too close, ambience poor more

Good Sub-Average Food 10/7/2002

If this is Atlanta's best for seafood, Burger King would make a good steak house! The food is substandard at best. It looks like seafood. It tastes like seafood. Yes, it's seafood, but it's not worth the price when compared to the Lobster Bar or even Pacifica. The menu paints a beautiful picture, but the food doesn't meet the expectations. Pros: Looks Great Cons: Bland and Boring more

It truly was turf 10/4/2002

After a pretty short wait with reservations my future in laws, my fiance and I were seated at a terrible table right next to kitchen and bathrooms. After the waiter shouted the specials at us, my fiance ordered the surf and turf. He ordered the steak medium, not a real tough way to cook a steak. The first time his meal came out it was obviously well done. the second time it came out it was very rare and finally the third time it was broiled to a crisp. We had may suits hover about us of course, but still did not make up for screwing up a steak 3 times. My swordfish was good but the portion is laughable! Stoney Creek steakhouse has a much better piece at about the same price. Way over rated and over priced. Get over it Atlanta! Cons: Loud, Small portions more

Share a plate 10/3/2002

The place was clearing out as we entered late on evening. The hostess was pleasant, but our waiter had the worst attitude. I used to waitress and know how hard it is to deal with customers, but I would not have tipped him if I had been the one to sign the credit card slip. We had heard that the portions are large, so we had an appitizer and shared a plate. Pros: Large portions Cons: waiter was a jerk more
