Dr Peterson and Staff are the Best.They make me feel like family. I was always fearful of the dentist because I had a bad experience but when I went to Dr Peterson it was great he turned it around I will not go to anyone else. My daughter and son in law now go to him also. Everyone in the office is fantastic. Even the cleaning people LoL. more

I've never had a great experience with a dental practice... Ever. All of that changed, however, in one amazing visit! Words cannot describe this practice... Polite, inviting, friendly, and most importantly... Attentive to the concerns of the patient. Highly recommended! more

I love everything about your office. The staff is very friendly and professional. I have never waited longer than 5 minutes for my appointment. Dr Chalker is so skilled, calm and friendly. Clearly, your office is geared towards making a visit as pain and stress free for the patient, as possible. Staff and doctors work as a team, which creates a very relaxing environment. I just had a scaling appointment with my hygienist, but called her attention to one tooth which had been bothering me. She decided to have Dr. Peterson have a look to see what was going on. He came in and found that the tooth only had one of the three roots intact and the tooth would need to be extracted. He recommended an implant process. He also checked other teeth and round there were problems under several of the crowns. So I have an appointment with Dr. Chalker tomorrow (my regular dentist for many years) to discuss the entire situation. This was my first experience with Dr. Peterson and it was a very pleasant one. more

I have ALWAYS had a dentist phobia. I have pain issues, and dentists/hygienists have regularly caused me pain. In fact, it had been over a year since my last dentist appointment because the hygienist had left me in SO much pain that I canceled the next appointment, and just never went back... I knew I needed to get in so checked my insurance provider list, then checked reviews on the dentists on the list. Doctors Peterson and Chalker had great reviews, so I made the appointment. I was able to get into the office in just a few days from when I called. Everyone was VERY pleasant and friendly. Better yet, my teeth were cleaned without an excess of blood loss, and no pain!! Have already recommended them to my 2 adult daughters who are looking for a new dentist. more

I have been to a number of good dentists in San Luis Obispo County over a few decades. My first visit to Dr. Peterson's office was last week, 8/4/2015, the day after I made the appointment. Dr. Peterson and his staff are, by far, the most excellent. They are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, informative, flexible and patient, but most of all they are compassionate. In my humble opinion, Dr. Peterson and his staff are the best you will ever find in this county to manage your dental needs. more

I've always been petrified of going to the dentist especially after a bad scare in europe in the 80's and in high school after an accident where i lost most of my front teeth. i've been deeling with teeth problems since age 16 so when this last absese left me scared and in severe pain i had to bite the bullet. Im so happy i chose Dr Peterson and his staff. he explained everything before he proceeded which made me feel very at ease. hopefully all my visits will be this calming. Diana Barnhill (Bishop) more

Was a very positive experience, after having a recent scary experience at my previous dental office. That bad experience left me feeling scared and anxious to go back to the dentist, however, Dr. Chalker and his staff listened to my needs and helped me relax. They asked me periodically if I was in any discomfort, during the procedure, which is important when you can't talk. They also didn't force treatments I didn't need and Dr. Chalker was good in explaining possible future treatments and preventive care. more

Dr. Peterson is extremely knowledgeable and at the same time very friendly and easy going. I would definitely recommend anyone to go to see him, for he is one of the best dentists I have seen. He makes jokes sometimes, which makes the experience better as well. The assistants are also really sweet and make you feel very comfortable. The receptionist kindly gave me advice on getting a dental discount card, which they accept, since I was getting so much work done. more

My first visit to this establishment was the best experience that I have ever had. Here's why... 1) Ever go to a dentist and get a screening done? Not only that... did they go ahead and have a staff on hand to do teeth cleaning prior to your screening? It's normal to do panos and x-rays prior to the screening but cleaning has never been the norm for me. So, being able to feel assured that the dentist was able to see my teeth for what they were really felt like I was placing my trust in the right people. 2) Facility is clean, and the staff are so accomodating. 3) Their policies are straight-forward... if you miss appointments the faults on you for lack of situational awareness. Being on time, they are pretty flexible if you are even the slightest late. Overall, I would recommend Dr Peterson, haven't met Chalker, but I'm sure both demonstrate what professional dentists and their staff should always look... right. more

I first called to see if they took our insurance because my 3 kids needed to get cleanings. They had been going to a different dentist and it had been a while since they had been in for cleanings and such. They got my kids in fairly quickly. One had a couple cavities that need to be filled along with a tooth that needed to be pulled and another had a filling that needed to be fixed and a couple teeth pulled. It has only been a couple months and almost all the work has been done (I had to reschedule an appt. because my daughter got sick) AND I have even gotten in for an exam and cleaning since it had been 13 years since I've been to the dentist! The staff was wonderful and Dr. Peterson was awesome with my kids, answered there questions (even the silly ones), and explained what was happening so they weren't scared! I would recommend him to anybody! more

When I called to see if Dr. Peterson was available to take me as an unscheduled appointment the answer was, "Absolutely". The whole experience with Dr. Peterson was absolutely wonderful; so much so that I am transferring my dental records to his office. I have also recommended my wife and son to his office. Dr. Peterson and his staff are all genuine caring personnel. I would not hesitate recommending Drs. Chalker and Peterson and the entire staff for dental treatment. They make you feel like they care about your situation. I LOVE them more
